The tension build up in that movie is phenomenal. The ending was kinda anticlimactic and a let down imo. Still a good movie though, it's no Sixth Sense but I enjoyed it.

Wanted to share this because it's Quake related.

In summary, a handful of faithful Quake campaigners pushed the limits of the engine to create an awesome set of levels to explore and conquer, while also making the entire game projectile based. Each map has its own theme, is full of monsters to fight and secrets to find, and some maps even have a background story hidden in the architecture.

If you can't find the time to download and play the level collection, you can watch a playthrough with the hardest difficulty and 100% kills & secrets below. It's certainly very entertaining to look at all of the spiraling & complex level design.

    Word

I don't even care, M Night Shyamalan and James Newton Howard are my fav director/composer combo right now.

This is probably the most lowkey happy ALIAN movie i've seen lmao. All the scares (I think there were 3) were well done though. I don't even know what I watched but the soundtrack is amazing holy ****

And **** living in the middle of nowhere surrounded by 7 foot tall crops

Yes but not based on scariness alone, because honestly It is the only scary one on that list. The others had a few jump scares, and It Follows wasn't even scary at all scary, but the soundtrack was sick so I liked it more than the rest.

The Conjuring from 2013 is one of the best horror movies of the last two decades. Forget about any of its sequels like Annabelle, though, they're not as original and only milk the success of the first part.

If you're looking for a gory splatter horror movie for diversion to the usual mystery/unnatural horror movies, you will be pleasantly entertained by Evil Dead from 2013, to the point where the shown cruelties could either turn your stomach or let you laugh yourself to tears.

A simple home invasion narrative leaves a chilling atmosphere at home after watching The Strangers from 2008. I don't want to watch that movie again because of the atmosphere it presented.

If you like original ideas and no cheap jump scares (just as an example) in horror movies, I recommend you looking for short films like Lights Out from 2013.

Of course, classics like Alien (1997), Saw (2004), Shining (1980) and Blair Witch Project from 1999 should satisfy the needs of any horror movie fan. If you have not had the chance to watch them, you've got stuff to do.

**** SAW. smart horror is way more fun than torture porn IMO

I saw conjuring a while ago and i didn't think it was scary at all. then again i read the plot before and i was watching it with my cousins. i think they were just laughing the whole time.

Also i'm trying to stay away from the 'family trapped in a house with demonic little girl' movies because i don't want to open a door to hell and see a demon standing over my bed tonight ahaha

I swear there was one movie i saw that was scary enough to make me pause it a few times. I can't remember the name

@Goat Its not really a thriller/horror but Snowpiercer is a pretty good movie if you haven't seen it yet.

i have and it was solid

and is it just me or was there an amazing period of movies between late 90s early 2000s that just had great photography and scores? everything i've watched from this era that wasn't loaded with CGI feels timeless.

Not a movie, but I think you'd be very interested in SOMA. It's a sci-fi horror/thriller, less genuinely scary IMO but it has fantastic atmosphere and story. But what's really cool is that a short series was made as a prequel to the actual game. It's probably one of the best horror games I've played and I haven't even finished it yet

Signs is my favorite "scary movie" by far. Probably because it's very story driven and just incredibly well done from start to finish. I don't know why people didn't like the ending, it was probably the best part.

I don't mess with demonic movies whatsoever. I already have extremely vivid demonic nightmares like once a week.

Dude the Conjuring was definitely a good scary movie. I watched it while camping a few years ago. We were in my brother in laws camper watching it until about 2 am then had to go sleep in my tent 40 yards away in the pitch dark lol. That was a trip.
