I thought the idoltary thing was only really enforced within Islam. Does it actually stem from the old testament or something and just Islam enforced it more? I know Judaism, Islam, and Christianity all kinda stem from the same starting point.
Not sure what you mean by "enforced"... idolising someone or something and giving all the credit to oneself or someone else is a slap in the face to the creator who rightly deserves credit for all good works
What I'm meaning is simply a belief that's held as important within that group. Enforced was bad word choice. Edit: would that mean if you made a good map that you wouldn't give yourself any credit but rather "God"? Or would it be kinda like god and Jesus thing where God is Jesus but is also himself, so in your case both God and you made the map and therefore both get credit? Edit 2: Does God get a co-forge credit? (Haha sorry couldn't help myself)
Not trying to start anything new at the moment. Too much **** to finish and test, but if it makes you feel better I have a few ideas for one.
Yes it's in the ten commandments, but pretty much nobody thinks in those terms. We have free will and the ability to learn, which was gifted to us. So yeah, give thanks for everything, but we don't have to go that far. Idolatry specifically relates to worship of something other than God. Giving thanks is a different story.
He probrobly opens Halo 5 forge and stares at the TV when he is fornicating when his girlfriend. "Oh yeah baby, it's so immersive" "I can't take it anymore those light shafts are gonna make me finish"
Well i get insperation from Gods creations, fundemental forumlas like the golden ratio and fractals. You can see these formulas executed in good level design wether the author realises it or not, it's intuitive. We all unknowingly are inspired by God but most don't give him the glory. "though they knew God, they glorified him not as God, but became vein in their imaginations" Also, understanding comes from the creator as well. Have you ever had an epiphany? A sudden strike of knowledge or comprehension? It is completely out of our control, wether or not we recieve these understandings. God can see the desires in all of our hearts, and he may choose to allow us those desires or deny them depending on his will. So if one has deep understanding of level design and knows how to create levels that are meant to seperate the wheat from the chaff creating a higherarchy, they should thank God for allowing them to have achieved it.
