Sorry for the long title. Mercury News’ Dean Takahashi received a rather interesting internal Microsoft memo, after the company’s CES keynote was over last night. In it, current Microsoft Games Studios chief Don Mattrick thanks the team for what an outstanding job they have done thus far, pimps some numbers, and that he is looking forward to what 2008 brings for the Xbox brand. Most of this was vaguley made mention of during Robbie Bach’s presentation last night. Towards the end of the note, he makes mention of ’08’s big titles, including Halo Wars, Too Human, Alan Wake ( yes, it’s a real game) and Splinter Cell: Conviction. He states that despite what may be floating around the internets, there are in fact “several exciting yet-to-be-announced� titles that are exclusive to the platform. Ending his email on “I believe we will close 2008 with Xbox 360 being the leader of this generation of consoles�, makes for a pretty interesting read for the Xbox enthusiatst. I’m sure this will be picked apart by the masses until things start appearing that aren’t really there, but what are you going to do? I read about it FOREVER ago. Has it been renamed? Is it coming out in 2008? It looks crazy fun. It is also supposed to be a FPS/ RPG, maybe it got renamed.
I'll be honest guys. I love the Halo games and everything, but I am just terrible at these strategy games. I'll probably still buy it, but I won't enjoy it all that much. Also, I don't think a lot of other console players will buy it.
