German and Japanese are super reliable but I like American cars too because they're so iconic.

    And Swedish. I like Volvo.

German? Really? VW's and BMW's are basically famous for having a hundred lights pop up on the dash at the same time ahaha they definitely feel really different to drive through.

Germans probably make the best cars in the world and make awesome stuff across the board. From medical, traffic, cleaning, machinery you name it. It is very well known here, the great quality of German products. They have the will, the economy, the experience and the recources to make top notch products.

I'll have to correct you there - the BAJA ute has one of the best constructed subaru interiors I've ever encountered, even if it is a bit early '00s-y.

Yeah.. the focus has stepped it up for sure, but here.. watch this and let me know how our highly analytical brain reacts.

The Germans USED to make the best cars in the world. They still make excellent supersport cars, but the cars they sell to the regular market, and even the luxe market, are not what they used to be. I'll explain in a blogpost later today when I get back to my computer.

Actually no I'll do a quick one now -

    BMW
Stiff steering and shitty blocky interior
Infotainment system is stupid, plastics are low-quality - surpassed by Lexus on all interior items - best they have to offer is the m4/m2 and those survive on nostalgia alone
i8 is a great idea, executed badly - driving feels like a Camry or Prius, driving position and view is like a Camaro (low bucket seat, high hood, low ceiling), stiff and dead as all hell
Ok solid state auto shifter, but not much better than Maserati's Chrysler-derived and badly labeled offering

    MERCEDES
In their effort to beat BMW to the bottom of the market (low-quality/low-income buyers with bigger eyes than stomachs) Mercedes has sacrificed the vision that made their sedans of the 80s and 90s so great
Buttery Solidity (creamy homogeneity) has become Margerinized Rigidity (oily solids), and the material quality in everything except the s550 and s55 AMG models has been tossed out the window.

    PORSCHE
Great cars! They rattle though, and the clutches pop in and out getting into first, like they aren't sure they want to go or not. Highest quality materials of them all, BUT! BUT! They have a horrible automatic shifter design and those stupid ****ing paddles.

    VW
No more hotrodding for you! Cheap Audi with extra noise and drivetrain choppiness, and that's all

    AUDI
Expensive VW with softer seats and airy steering - they're all FWD or AWD though, so really.. a neutered, pampered rally machine, whose only real plus is that they're... not Mercedes or BMW

I'm not looking at German-owned or German-derived brands like Smart or Chrysler here, those deserve their own post.

You obviously have your **** together man and I don't but you can make posts like this about any brand of car. Sure maybe German cars aren't what they used to be but it's great quality in Europe at least. It's also a bit personal based on your own experiences. Like we had good experiences with Ford and have an awesome Focus right now but there are whole tribes out there that are probably disgusted by this brand.

I believe there are only a handful of people who really know what they're talking about. And just to be clear, I'm not one of them.

Literally everyone I talk to about cars have vastly different experiences and all say something radically different. Like one guy will say that ford is amazing and the next will talk about how his ford exploded and killed his family, lol.

In reality, none of us have owned enough cars to make statements like "such and such is the best/worse" because even if a ford DID blow up and kill my family, it's one of millions, so you can't really draw any solid conclusions from that. I guess you'll have to look at popular ratings? I don't know if there is such a thing for car companies and I definitely don't trust individual online reviews, so somebody should enlighten me on the subject.

I have almost zero knowledge about vehicles but I will say that everything I or my family has ever owned of German make was really, really high quality and long lasting. Based on that alone, if I were to buy a luxury car, it would probably be a BMW. Although, my dad has a v12 Jaguar XJ-SC and that car is pretty incredible to drive so maybe I'd go with a Jaguar? I don't know.

Well, I manage and dispatch a fleet of 12 oilfield trucks and 4 of them are 1-ton trucks. Out of Ford, Dodge, and Chevrolet (we’ve tried them all) fords have been the most reliable work truck, hands down. No contest. These are used on rough ass lease roads with heavy equipment on the back.

    So yeah... screw Honda.

Really? I used to sell trailers and we had to haul a lot of equipment to and from the yard. We had brand new F150s,250s, 350s struggle with loads well under their GVW. Rams and Silverados always pulled just fine, and were built better inside and out. Could be different circumstances though. I'd be interested in hearing more.

I can't speak for cars but Kroger tends to have really high quality shopping carts. Targets are good too even though they're often made of plastic. From my experience Wal-Mart's carts seem to dump quickly cause they're used so often you can never really find a newer one. I suspect they're dope when they got fresh bearings and a just bacteria wiped handle though.
