Post inbound from someone who actually plays this game! That should mix things up a bit So my lobby has more or less only been 1v1 maps for the past 3 weeks. First and foremost it's pretty obvious that the community at large is having a hard time wrapping their heads around 1v1 in Halo 5. Even really experienced Forgers are having some issues. That's not to **** talk anyone; if anything I'm happy to see so many people outside their comfort zones. That being said, after quite a bit of time spent actually playing maps I have some pretty neato observations. I want to point out a few maps I think are rather strong competitors right now: Icebox (MythicFritz) - 00:57:30 Ad Nauseum (PharmaGansta) - 01:30:00 Dark Abyss (Mr DeliciousMan) - 02:34:00 Unnamed (xzamplez) - 02:48:00 These maps really apply a solid appreciation for the extended mobility in Halo 5 making so that the map itself doesn't have to do too much heavy lifting when it comes to how you can approach fights. The layouts are easy enough to pick up without being ultra plain or straight forward and maybe most importantly for me; the maps do not give the lesser skilled player a chance to pull cheap kills or overly avoid deaths. These 4 maps all apply different principles in their approaches and the execution is pretty solid. Are there things to be improved? Of course. But I think if you're having a hard time grasping 1v1 in this game, these might be worth playing a few times just for reference sake. I really do believe that at the end of the day, the 1v1 should be a test of ability and if the map is tilting the scales in favor of one player, it is impeding on the actual gameplay.
