in other shocking news i'm scrapping my latest map because it's too ambitious for this game. probably killing myself too because there's no other way to break the forge cycle.
You just showed me that last night. Hell no. you better finish that. That would end up being one of the best maps in this game.
yea no. if i remove all the rocks, all the trims and all the "aesthetics" i'm still over 1200 pieces lmao. i'm done. forge is cute for building boring blockouts and ps2 era maps, but the kind of **** i want to do needs a dev kit. or you know, objects that aren't ****ing 2 feet thin so i don't have to use 6 of them. and given the fact that it's been 7 years and i still have to put giant walls around my maps to hide the skyboxes makes me realize that this ain't changing for forge anytime soon.

It's a shame Halo 5 isn't good. I just don't value acutally playing this game enough to care about making a design for the sake of making a design, especially because what i can make is decided entirely on how many objects I have. It's completely mental that you have to "budget" for a design, and if you want to make anything that doesn't look like ****, it has to waste objects on invisible boundaries and chromaboxes. The player count really doesn't even matter; there isn't an elaborately designed and good looking map in this game that 1. isn't chromaboxed, 2. doesn't have framedrops.
The thing about Spartan charge is that it has movement utility too. So at what point are we removing one ability because it's obnoxious but not others. For example I believe thrust is the most harmful ability in H5. Ground pound doesn't need to exist. Or clamber. Why not remove those too. You end up in this weird middle ground and no one wants to play those settings. You either remove all the abilities or leave them on, and for the sake of "accessibility" it makes sense to play default settings. Plus old school settings in H5 honestly aren't even fun. No radar is a given. I am willing to look into a 4sk pistol though, it would help allow people to put more weapons on the map.
Designing to overcome Halo 5's shitty mechanics is pretty much the only reason why I forge at this point. It's the only source of fun left.
Looking for new roommate Beach front property Very roomy 3 bedrooms, no bathrooms but we just go in the ocean Front entrance is a little worn down Comes with giant beyblade $1800 a month
This is an extremely sloppy runthrough of the map I started last week, Widow's Veil. I haven't decided if I want to bother rebuilding and cleaning it up yet. In the context of my last posts, this is the kind of stuff I design in Forge. I've had really solid input from Xandrith, Salty, Box, Multi, and Seth, but I'm really not sure if this map is even possible in this game lol.
