    is there a reference somewhere of which canvases are best for this and that lighting/skybox situations? I know a lot of knowledge seems to have been accumulated out there, but is it... out there?

    No I just try stuff. Goat has a pretty good understanding of what works where and what doesn't.

    yeah I do that too, but it typically destroys the build quality
    I had a hell of a time with that one 'Pillar' a while back, doing the colors and whatnot, picking a canvas, every time I would place it all the pieces would rotate by about .38 degrees in some direction, so I gave up on the whole 'canvas migration' thing
    might have to make it come back, though :/

    it is meticulous and painful, but even when I've had to relocate an entire castle because my map is too big, you can find that things are no longer perfectly aligned or rotated.

    As a cleanup, last pass on a map, I suggest touching most structural pieces and (this is easier on PC) typing a zero (0) on each value that should not have a value, such as x,y, z and rotation on those 3 axes. If a piece should have a 90deg value, make sure it is a perfect 90. If you see things with odd values, it is very likely you meant to have it at the closest interval, like at least a degree or an 8th or 4th of a unit. If things have a .01 value after the x,y,z number, look at whether there is apiece merged with it, and consider if you had put that .01 on there intentionally to avoid z-fighting.

    huh, didn't know that's how they merge them

    but I don't have a pc that can run H5F, so i'm stuck gimping it all the way
    at least with Sketched I could justify it with the art style of blocky **** all over the place

    haha. is there no way to nudge a piece by the smallest increment (.01) on xb? I think you can set it to shift at an increment of maybe .001 but actually there is no increment in the game smaller than .01.

    typically what I do is just pick a piece that's out of place and set it back to 'original position' and then rotate it by hand to the correct values
    faster than scrolling thru a value wheel of 360 degrees on 3 axes
