I was thinking of drawing 4 sets of 4 different route arrows on 4 different days and superimposing them. Imma call it Subjectediveness
I just realized that xzamples said I "went crying to war" on skype. How would he know that I messaged him? I'm glad the owner of the site is gossiping about personal messages. I can't say I'm surprised, though.
A lot of the map seems unplanned to me but I also haven't been able to play it obviously. One suggestion I would have is to try it out without the top shield door and just the horizontal pillars to cross. Otherwise, I like the basic, one color and simplistic h2ish forerunner-likeness to it. May need to add something to differentiate somewhat but again, I haven't played by it so it may not be a problem.
If we held a 1v1 forge contest that would lead into a 1v1 tournament using the top 5 maps from the contest would anyone here get behind that? I know how highly you guys think of 1v1's in H5 Also, what if this was judged by some community members, would anyone be interested to judge this?
I think you would be a good judge for this, what do you say? Its not like you would be able to finish something for the contest anyway --- Double Post Merged, Aug 15, 2017 --- We could create a poll and see how many people would be interested for that. The one thing that concerns me is that when we get to tournaments, we would be supporting different modes between 2v2 and 1v1. My OCD is telling me that we should have consistent modes across our tournaments since the're official. Maybe we could run a side tournament using community classic settings one day but I'd like to see people challenge themselves and see if they can make 1v1 work in H5. Its an uphill battle but hopefully someone forgers can pull it off.
Multi agreed to be a judge, who else wants to be on the panel? I think 3 more should suffice. This is a relatively small judge panel size and the matches should be easier to host since you only need 2 people. You can rotate out judges to have different gameplay experiences too. I can help setup a contest management board on Trello for you guys too, if you like.
Thanks for the feedback broderino! Unfortunately I drew the map out beforehand, so the unplanned feel you're getting is just my raw talent haha. I also share doubts about the light bridges, but I'll never know until it's tested like you said. I'm just over 900 pieces so I'll have plenty of detail to add after the layout becomes (hopefully) more polished. WOOOO OOOOH CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM GETS ME SO WETTTTTT MMMMMMMM
This is easily your coolest theme and the pendulum has a lot of potential, but i think the layout needs more micro paths that add more tangible surface area to the map and promote interesting encounters instead of long flat race track fights.
You're a good player and you have a competent sense of map design. 2 more spots available for the panel!
Looks great man. Glad to see the art coming together well. --- Double Post Merged, Aug 15, 2017 --- This is great! You'd have to guaranty a tournament this time... Way too many promises this site hasn't kept as of late.
I don't know anything about 1v1s and I'd rather use the contest to learn. Thinking of a map in the context of 1v1 will let me get away with things I wouldn't normally do though, so I'm more likely to finish a map and not worry as much.
Oh this is exciting! A 1v1 forge contest, plus a tourney?! I am not going to judge this one, I want to compete!!
I trust Xandrith and Multi to assess maps based on good gameplay and interesting design, and I'd like to see the other judges be seasoned designers who are able to disagree with them. I would say Seth but he would rather win money than judge. Schnitzel maybe if he wanted to participate.
