I think you guys are on a 6-month clock that's about when I joined and I remember the whole thing something was bound to come up --- Double Post Merged, Aug 8, 2017 --- ANYWAY while we still have a dedicated site for this any delayed reactions re. my new layout? is it too much of a donut? I will answer any and all questions --- Double Post Merged, Aug 8, 2017 --- both images for reference
Expect FH to kill itself again if drama like this keeps popping up, everyone left FH to die 4 years ago because the staff then were corrupt egotistical assholes, I guess the FH staff didn't learn from the site's past mistakes.
Think the side of the map downriver is incredibly underdeveloped. It's already the lowest part of the map and I don't see any reason to be down there, which consequently means I won't ever want to go in the river. What exactly is the aesthetic you're going for? I'm getting some Powerhouse (Reach) vibes from it, so maybe you could have the area downriver built up a bit as a water treatment machine or something.
First I want to start with the map rotation I suggest then I'll explain why.. Sanctuary Aerocrest High Garden Heads up or Synthesis Arcanum War. You said you want this first tourney to be a test and you want it NOW. If your gonna rush things so much I believe throwing in the sanctuary remake in the features list would be a good move. Everyone likes and understood by most halo players, the maps perfect for round 1 Lots of people have said their maps are tried and true map, but aerocrest was designed for 2v2 and has been for a long time. Everyone I know who's played it loves the map. Asym with enough depth to keep things interesting, but still easy to learn. This is gonna get tons of hate. So **** it. I've been working on High garden for months. It's built from the ground up to play competitive 2v2's making it a far better choice then nemesis. If people play the map and dislike it then remove it, but High garden is the only map in this list that could be removed. Heads up and synthesis are both great asym 2v2's that again, are simple enough to learn but have enogh depth to play at a high level. I'd love both, but their can only be 5 maps so... Everyone is on the Arcanum band wagon, and they should be. The maps simplicity maps the emphasis on the key that much more. Having a complex map like Arcanum for round 5 means players who learn the map fastest will win making for an interesting last stand. Finally thing. War. Nemesis can NOT PLAY 2v2. When people say the map plays 2v2, it's because the maps scale, spawns and weapons all work FOR 2v2. Nemesis is a perfect example of a bad spawn camp and before you bring up that you were inspired by onslaught and midship, I'm just gonna stop you. Both maps had a middle that was risky to move through but was still viable, Nemesis's flow is to it's towers that's it. The only reason it works for extermination is because that gametype is CHAOTIC! Real 2v2's don't allow for such ****. If you add this map your just proving that you wont listen to the community you head and will set a standard for future tournaments. Please don't add the map...
An admitted shortcoming, yes Like I said, I'm considering stunting that area, making it a much shearer cliff face, and putting some kind of incentive down there for adventurous playing Aesthetically I'm gonna go for a variation on the Sketchy look mixed with a Falling Water atmosphere, the building block/nature/decay of that combo really pierces my pecans right now
Dunco was temp banned for his recent actions as he forced our hands with his vulgar comments. At least he went out with burning flames trail blazing behind him. Definitely a show stopper and we couldn't expect anything less from him. Dunco overreacted but its because I did as well. This was the first time I ever voiced dissatisfaction with his conduct so I wasn't sure if he would be sensitive to it. I should not have made assumptions and should have contacted him privately but I too lost composure because I felt insulted by him. I guess I just didn't share his sense of humor because I was at the butt of his joke. We all know that drama and ForgeHub are not mutually exclusive ...I can already smell the popcorn littering the isles over this.
Gods of Forgehub. We have offered you our beloved son, Dunco. Child of sewers. Bless us in return with Schnitzel. Amen.
I haven't completely given up on Schnitzel either. We still keep in touch and I think his temperament has improved a lot since then. In fact we're planning on going to DreamHack late October so if anyone else wants to join in I think you can still purchase tickets.
