Dude, Mob has easily the most atmosphere, Verruckt close second. Game play wise it's the other way around I'd say.
If I was funding it, it wouldn't be happening until Halo 6. Luckily for everyone here, I'm not. I think the time for large player count contests has already come and gone. I'd like to see a 2v2 contest based around a custom gametype. A contest based upon a map/custom gametype combo, where the forger needs to design both, would be awesome. It would be a hybrid of game design and level design. Of course, contests don't always need to be based around a player count or gametype. Challenges would be cool. Aesthetic contests are simple to build for, run, and judge. Puzzle, Race, or Mini Games are always an option; there hasn't been a contest for any of them in forever. Moving forward, it would be awesome if Forgehub could secure funding that would allow contests to be run on a consistent schedule, so that they could be planned well ahead of time. Prior to the beginning of 2018, there should already be a solid schedule set (at least internally) for the entire year, including what type of contest it is, and start and end dates at the very least. Part of the problem with contests is that once you finish judging one you don't want to even think about another contest for at least a month. If something isn't already scheduled ahead of time, you end up with long stretches without them as a result. Having a set schedule prevents that.
i'm down for a contest if you all are - but first, ANYONE UP FOR A TEST LOBBY :^) or do you all have lives
Wouldn't it be great if 343 told us what maps types they slacked on for Halo 6 before it came out? Then we could have all this time to plan out matchmaking maps, instead of them being like "derrrr, where's yours guys breakout maps?" (I think they secretly made breakout as a playlist with the thought in mind, "heh, we can just put those loser forgers in this little corner.")
Imagine if war let me judge a contest and it actually got done in a timely manner and had good results
I posted something similar on a matchmaking feedback thread and got ignored. They're jealous that we put out better content on a shittier editor --- Double Post Merged, Jul 5, 2017 --- Honestly, we could put together a better starting playlist bracket ourselves, but for some reason they're afraid we're gonna hide dicks everywhere or something
No. I think the Key concept is awesome, and the contest could produce something with a similar gameplay idea, but I'm not proposing a contest that uses an existing gametype. I'm proposing that forgers would need to submit their own unique gametype and map combination. It could be anything from a 'classic' slayer variant to an objective gametype that's never been seen before.
