I would start by putting the map in a giant cube made of black chromas. Then select every object and make sure the light bake is set to [off]. Then add an artificial overhead light source, for your plants (unless it's there night cycle). Retake screenshots of the same setup and post em
I'm not talking about piece usage, I'm talking layout. I'm not talking about forge, I'm talking in any game. Don't mistake this as me saying it's a godlike map or anything of the sort. I just set a goal and achieved it, so I'm satisfied with it.
Nah. Fair warning...the fatherly side of me is about to come through. This isn't aimed specifically at this post, but more so at the sentiment expressed in it, which I've seen expressed multiple times over the last couple of years by multiple people. Xandrith is an extremely intelligent person. He didn't and doesn't need anyone to tell him how or what to forge, or how to act. I've always felt that his greatest strength is his ability and willingness to learn. Some of that learning has been from me, some of it has been from Multi, lot's of it has been from other sources. He takes what works for him, and discards what doesn't. I call that wisdom. Anyone can disagree with him obviously, but to suggest he's a lapdog, a lackey, a brainless follower of anyone is inaccurate and disrespectful. I've seen Xandrith post plenty of things I found disrespectful also, so don't consider this me taking his side. I am, and always have been, on the side of treating people with respect, even when they fail to treat others that way. I despise disrespect, while still respecting the people that treat others disrespectfully. The 'evil' is in the action, not in the person. I'm in favor of attacking disrespect, but not in favor of doing so by attacking the person, because that creates a vicious cycle. This, to me, is an extremely important distinction. If you're wanting to attack someone's actions, then attack their actions, but do it without attacking the person. Attacking the person in hopes that it will change the way they act is short sighted and unrealistic. It doesn't work.
Not sure which map to work on finishing up. Which one should I focus on? Raid style boss battle against the Cesslord and the infected OR Linear Infection map where you try and escape the bio prison performing experiments on captured Spartans
Wonder Woman was the worst movie I've ever seen. I fell asleep in the final battle, and my girlfriend fell asleep in the 'discrimination' scenes. Gal Gadot is literally who status. Can't act, is unrealistic as a physically strong woman, and relies too much on one facial expression - it was like watching an extended selfie session. It didn't help that there was absolutely ZERO character development for her, and Captain Kirk literally kills himself (probably) because she thinks he is worthless for pleasure, and must extrapolate that all men are garbage for following such a lousy god of war. Then there's the fact that she is completely dead to everything that happens around her at every moment, and never takes any time to reflect on the implications of what she is or why people have lied to her and how she fells about that - is the message that strong women without men in their lives are so narcissistic that they become opaque to themselves and the world around them? Is that a good thing to be empowering people with? *edit* Maybe there was a glimmer of hope, what with the "conception" metaphor at the beginning and the interesting gendered flip of order and chaos, but all of that is quashed by the sheer arrogance and inhumanity of WW; at no point in the film does it hit her that SHE IS NOT NORMAL, even for an island of super ladies.
Well said. I usually don't like to go that far, but I see people liking posts that are nothing other than insults, then see someone piggyback the post with their own. I retaliated. I don't know what changed, but the community never had this type of animosity when I was more active (at least in forgehub and the MLG forge forums). I'll admit I'm contributing to it. I feel like Multi says a lot of things that should be questioned. I'm filling in for Schnitzel.
This is by far one of the hardest things to read through as well. When in the past having to step in for moderation, people either angry at me for moderating, angry for not moderating someone at an equal level, like to revert as if something was a joke, or a multitude of other things. It's really hard to pin point any of these sorts of things when hateful words are usually expressed in this forum. Hence the reason people get butthurt when moderation happens or doesn't happen, another reason why I have shifted focus making ForgeHub and it's user experience a better place. I feel if people would respect others more, this place would be better off and the community would be better as a whole. We could default all of our issues on a company making a crap game, but I choose to not do that. Yea, there could be a lot of things done differently, but that doesn't give me a reason to say any rude or hateful comments towards someone. If I have in the past, it was a failure on my character. Instead of having the same high-school related arguments every month or so, couldn't we try collectively give 343 our constructive thoughts towards the next iteration of forge? As much as some of you may hate it, Halo 5: Guardians Forge was/is leagues above the previous editions, yet we want more. What we want is full fledged editor for Halo. I don't think we will ever get anything like that, but it's possible. Remember, behind the username and avatar is a real person typing away these comments. I do mean this when I say I care about you all. You guys have become my friends over the years, more than some in IRL. But the constant bickering and fighting is annoying. Respect one another.
What the **** why do you say these things lmao when have I ever suggested I'm the only source of level design knowledge. I swear man you need some time off to chill because every time you post you make it a mission to go out of your way to spew nonsense about me. I posted a thread about my history here because I felt like posting about my history and you were one of the fist replies with something about a brag attempt. Just block me so you don't see my posts please and thanks.
That hallway is pretty sick Dunco. I hope you never make a sewer again. On topic: (or off topic, depends on how you look at it in the waywo)...Chunk is a far better person than I am, he's the nicest guy I found here.
ANYWAYS. who wants to play doubles today. I normally run lobbies with xandy/given/kurismic but I doubt all of us will be on today. We just run through a bunch of solid ass doubles maps for a few hours.
I find it weird that someone (you) who is borderline homeless is actually making fun of someone else for having a job.
Try out Genome my current WIP, just added a camo and OS to see if it made the map more interesting to play. Feel free to roast it too.
I never claimed you have said that. What you do imply, however, is that you are the most qualified person to give feedback. My comment wasn't about that thread, but it's another example of what I'm talking about. Honest question: Do you ever go back and read your posts? Can you honestly read them, and tell me that their isn't some ego and superiority complex behind them? (The ones that talk about level design)
