How can you defend a company that released a half finished game missing most of the core game types that all Halo fans love (ball, hill, btb and such)? Once they finally gave us ball we had to make oddball or bomb with it! I mean damn, we already have to make our own decent maps you can't just give us the game types.

You are absolutely right about them wanting to make money, that's why they put so much effort into req packs and made a killing. BUT even in Warzone, making the same damn bases on every single map?! What the hell is that? You mean you can't design just one more different base? Lmao.

Working on a Metroid Prime Co-Forge with Portaleer and Omni42.

It doenst matter what one person things something is worth, it matters what most people are willing to pay. With the industry standard of a new game being 60$ its easy to see why Microsoft priced it the way they did.

 

Well it's pretty clear not many people were willing to pay that much, seeing as they either dropped off after the first month or two, or didn't buy the game at all.

 

Do you really think 343 and Microsoft would have made more money if you sold the game for 30 dollars instead of 60?

It is a statistical fact that the only prerequisites for escaping poverty in America are to 1) graduate highschool, 2) to acquire employment of any kind, and 3) to not have a kid before marriage. It is 100% decision-based.

If you have made these very simple choices and you stay poor, it's because you suck with money.

I agree that people in general are terrible at managing money, but it's hard not to look at your situation and see why you have such a simple explanation for such a complex issue.

Most entry level jobs that aren't in the service industry offer benefits, while literally anyone who is willing can get in. Your points are completely anecdotal at best.

Also, I can tell that you don't have much to stand on if you're already going to resort discrediting my ideas by pointing out my financial situation, as if it has anything to do with this at all.

However, just for the record, I'm not rich. I work a full time entry level job that offers benefits, and I could live on my own off of what I make.

It's off topic, but I'm too lazy to make a new thread so I'm commenting here anyway.
I think what Mel says is true for 90% of people. The other 10% still constitutes a lot of people though. That 10% consists of people with mental, physical, and psychological issues that are often out of their control. There are also a decent amount of people that have the opportunity to dig themselves out of poverty, but have the odds stacked drastically against them, or have no incentive to do so because the government is setup in a way that enables and even encourages people to continue relying upon government support once they're on it.

 

I think the amount of free assistance between unemployment and other safety nets is utterly ridiculous. People sit on those for years.


For the record I'm extremely conservative and don't believe health care is a right. It's the second most expensive thing you can own outside of housing payments and the least someone should do to gain access to health assistance is pay taxes into the system.
