At one point I was thinking it would be cool to see who made what official dev map, but now I think I'll pass. Heaven knows the drama behind the scenes at 343 if there's this much drama on a fan site. I use the term Fan site extremely loosely.
When you actually know who made it though, it makes sense. The guy who made Overgrowth LOVES camping.
Fair point. Although the map would not have been possible without buddy helping, I think there's a big difference in comparing forging invisible stairs and creating an original design. I don't know who made what in storm peaks because I didn't start keeping up with it until after buddy was brought on to help with the stairs, I'm just pointing out that you can't really compare forging stairs to a design.
The difference is irrelevant. Xandrith brought up the map for no reason and then tried to defend its credits when it's already been through prior criticism over the topic. It's silly.
Hey doods, pause the drama for a sec, I need some opinions So I'm currently art-ing one of Blaze's blockouts. It's set in California, on the streets right next to a beautiful beach. I have this vertical billboard thing going on, but I cant figure out what billboard looks best. Burger: Chief Movie: Piss Soda: "ES" (clothing store maybe?) Thoughts?
As someone who lives in California by the beach I can safely say the burger sign because it reminds me of In N Out Also your lighting sucks start over --- Double Post Merged, Mar 29, 2017 --- Also lemme see the map rn
I was going to say the Soda can as well. I think it fits the best and all the other things look like they don't have enough room to fit on a billboard that size haha. Regardless, can looks best. I wish there was a way to make the color of it less vibrant though. EDIT: actually, the color kind of fits.
the vibrancy is fine, the problem is we can't texture billboards so it will just end up looking forgey.
I like the burger as well. Between that and the soda right now. Havent even touched lighting/skybox stuff. Still deciding whether I should have it set in night time with chroma box lighting or day time/sunset with open air lighting. Also lighting is not baked in the pics. You can join my forge sesh if you want dude, but I cant find my mic so I will be a mute haha.
Maybe I'll script it so it changes every minute or something haha. just kidding, not patient enough for scripting...
I'll try to look past the Ad hominem and just touch on a few points. "The tele bridge was my idea. I literally remember explaining that tele to you and how it would come from the cathedral." That bridge was completely my Idea. There wasn't an opening other than the door to the main entrance of that tower on that side at all, until I added it. Then, I added a bridge which I later turned into a broken bridge with the teleporter. I guess this simply comes down to your word vs. mine, but let's remember who 1) Straight up lied to me and gave a fake apology after trying to take credit for the map and 2) got angry when Storm Peaks was finished because you couldn't even remember giving the map to me. Yeah, you've built a real strong case for yourself as a forgetful liar. "You built what I told you to build." I didn't just forge what you told me to forge, but it was obvious back then that you wanted me to, and for that reason I tried to just give you the map. Past the first forge session you logged on maybe 3 times to critique what I had built, and eventually I decided to just give the map to you because you were being really picky and didn't treat me with respect at all. Once you saw that I wouldn't just make what you wanted, you gave me the map. See screenshot below. "You didn't have any vision for the map." If I didn't have any vision for the map then Storm Peaks wouldn't exist. "At that point in the map everything was my ideas and why we stopped working together partially because you wanted to do some ass aesthetics and we had different ideas on how it should be scaled." You gave me the map because of my ass aesthetics? Haha, I'll refrain from defending myself and just let people draw their own conclusions from your portfolio of terrible looking maps. "We all know you can't make anything on your own just like the Multi and Given" Okay.
@MultiLockOn You misinterpreted what I said about intracacies. I said they determine the way a map plays, as opposed to judging it by its category, like two-base two-tower. You can have 2b2t maps that play nothing like Midship. That statement had nothing to do with claiming ownership for the design.
