Basically I'd trying to make a Halo style multiplayer game with CS:GO level map knowledge and gun skill (with the exception that it'll be an all projectile sandbox). I want to make an esport, but I'd need a AAA dev team for that to be supported, which is why I'm looking into making a beta, using it as a proposal to Gearbox to become an official title of theirs, and spicing it up with an in depth single-player (hopefully). Edit: The setting will be a dystopian 1980s-early 2000s based mainly around the chain of events surrounding the invention of the transistor and how it extends WWII long enough to convince the USA to nuke not only Japan but also Germany. US becomes nuke-happy and glasses the border of Korea and Manchuria (actual proposal by General Douglas MacArther), and the Soviet Union responds by nuking the southern half of the Korean peninsula, ending the Korean conflict instantly. I haven't figured the rest out yet, but it'll center around a WWII child of a Staff Sargent form Dallas, Texas and a Bulgarian women who dies due to complications with his birth. His father dies in the nuclear wasteland that is then known as the Glassed Plains, formerly Pyongyang. The main character is already 37 years old when the game starts in 1983.
So xzamples' is too big of a ***** to discuss his claims about storm peaks on the Waywo, so he starting making things up on my profile page. You should all go look at that if you want to see what stupid looks like.
To anyone who cares: I was trying to make it a private discussion, but since Xandrith seems to love the attention... This is what Tyrant designed. The Damnation-esque U geometry surrounding a chasm with a platform spanning it, the staggered platforms overlooking it, the circular shape of the geometry, and the castle theme. You be the judge.
Doesn't look crazy different. Looks like the final version just got squished in horizontally and stretched vertically.
I built a blockout instead of going straight to art. Sunny Night Stormy Not finished, and has no lighting or spawns, but it's close.
What was intended to be the church or whatever is pretty different iirc but other that these are my thoughts
I just built my best map i need a terrain ***** tho to come help ok so this is a sloppy blockout/theme idea of it there are 3 teleporters the map will be very aggressive 2 damage boosts
You can't really grasp the layout by the pictures because nobody knows how the teleporters work, but i think it will flow really well and have that aggressive style play I like. It's a lot of chasing down and cutting off. Also because I always wanted to make a room with two teleporters that are parallel to each other but cycle over top of each other --- Double Post Merged, Mar 28, 2017 --- I just think it has great potential for how simple it is
Perhaps I worded that wrong but I can post a quick clip when I get home of how the room works. Its pretty cool though how engagements will work in that area though
Yes! I can show you how big of an ass you are in public! First of all, do you really think this was a screenshot of Purely's progress before he gave it to me? I know you don't think much of me xzamples, but you're pulling that completely out of your ass. This was a true co-forge from the start, and half of the things you see even in this version were my doing. The bridge to the left and the chapel to the right (which I forged completely) no longer exist. It may be hard to see, but the layout of the inside of the two towers are also different. On top of that, we hadn't even thought about teleporters yet. The only thing that I truly took from Purely... are the two stacked paths on top mid and the two towers. Guess what? Those paths are redundant and the towers are probably the least interesting part of the map. If any of you really think that my months of trial and error to create Storm Peaks belongs to purely because he contributed the idea for two towers and a redundant highway in the original CO-FORGE, then I honestly don't know what to say. It's still funny to me that you looked at Storm Peaks and thought it was a Damnation-styled map, lol.
Not detracting anything from your argument, just genuinely curious, wasn't there always going to be a tele from somewhere that went to the broken bridge on the left side of the screenshot?
Yes, very late into the co-forge I added that tele, along with the broken bridge. I only say "we hadn't thought about tele's" because those were both 100% my Idea. Which is also why Storm Peaks still has a tele similar to that.
