I was thinking about what would help a person new or less experienced at forge to learn and get better. I came up with this idea. A really experienced forger from FH could capture themself building a whole map, with all the complicated techniques. This might help alot of people. How better to learn than watch someone better than you work? Share your thoughts!
Yeah this would be good but there is forging 101 already i donno if someone would take the time. Would help some people tho
I think maybe a whole map would be hard to capture since they're often done over long stretches of time with a lot of breaks etc, not to mention the time taken to make a map that would display all of the techniques. IMO it would have to be at least 5-10 hours long to really fulfill this role and that would be unreasonable. But I do think that video demonstrations, really in depth ones, are a great idea and I would have found this invaluable when I started. Maybe something more along the lines of a video or collection of videos for each technique. I know FH already have video tutorials on youtube but some more would be great, especially more foundry oriented ones. I agree they would have to be in depth, like showing multiple different scenarios for interlocking and floating etc, with a focus on how to use guides effectively and suchlike. I also think that a practical application of techniques would be better than just an explanation, maybe a video that shows how to build a large structure using many techniques and scenarios would be good. Great idea, I hope it takes off.
Yeah i agree with this mabey we can get someone to make multiple videos of building small things like a sniper tower or a base or something so people can see what they want without watching the rest of the video.
yh i suppose a whole map would be hard.. well just what the others said, small parts of the map in detail, that would be great. anyone willing to do it?
I was going to do this but nobody showed an interest so i didn't bother. http://www.forgehub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11147
Yeah even for the somewhat experienced. I know how to do everything it is just I am not good at all of it. Definetly do it Mallet
