Dying by itself is never a good thing, but there's deaths that can have positive benefits such as burning a powerup/weapon but even then, you'd be better off getting the powerup and not dying...
Obviously living is ideal. Though in some cases it could benefit your team. Burning power-up, playing ball, bating, pulling objectives, to allow spawns to swap and probably a handful of other reason could justify it in specific situations.
**** HALO 6 "We are extremely open-minded about releasing a map editor for Overwatch someday. But because Overwatch was made with a brand new engine, this is not a small task or one which can happen any time soon. We have this on our long-term road map and believe heavily in user-made content. But there are many challenges ahead of us and it will be a very long road before our editor can be made available to the public." https://us.battle.net/forums/en/overwatch/topic/20753537194#post-15
Lmbo I agree! I guess in this one your searching for items to repair a ship and repair the engine core so you can power it on.but it's pretty much common sense if you pay attention to the details of the map itself, like realizing that the train is not operational until the power is on and you will see a huge sign that tells you what items you need to find for fixing the ship, and for the engine core you have to actually go there to see what's damaged and missing on it and search everywhere for it. It's pretty small and simple map with easy completion if common sense is applied. I didn't implement parkour only a few tricky skill jumps to get to some items. The next episode will definately have timed objectives and items to find also but enemies to avoid and fair amount of parkour because the storyline.
lol. That's a very short sighted perspective. If I back down from someone going for Rockets because I'm one shot, and as a result that person ends up getting Rockets and killing me anyway (after I backed down to let my shields recharge), and then also kills 2 of my teammates with them, is that a better alternative than putting one more shot in him and dying, but having that extra shot prevent him from being able to get Rockets, and therefore potentially preventing the death of my two teammates? Obviously 1 death on the team is better than 3. While the scenario I laid out may not be the best one, it demonstrates the point well enough. And that's only in a Slayer scenario. When objectives are part of the equation, there are a lot more situations where sacrificing your life will be the right decision.
I just got Spotify premium right before @AceOfSpades started talking it up. Definitely lives up to the hype
@Spranklz Read the above posts. Thanks everyone for the timely and well thought out responses. Really appreciate all you guys Recently got some inspiration from a BTB Wip by @MartianMallCop And I'll be working on a new linear infantry centric BTB forest map based somewhat on the image below.
I've decided to start doing blockouts/slopouts as I've burnt way to many hours working on art on maps I never end up releasing. This will allow me to increase my productivity and will hopefully help me grow greatly as a level designer. After I get the forest map slopped up, I'll be working on another BTB based on Battlefields iconic wake island, but with a BF4 Naval Strike esque twist to it. I cant believe a map of this sort doesn't exist and I hope to bring a good one to the masses.
