That is... refreshing. I think? I'm not a visual person so I normally don't really pick up on things like color schemes, but this one is insisting itself as a nice choice in my more-verbal-sort-of brain.
Shower thoughts: Why the hell would someone use PC forge, when you can just install UDK or Unity? Makes no sense to me.
If you like to see ppl play on your levels in a much more reasonable time frame, H5 forge is the way to go.
Try to smooth out the terrain more, man. Cool vibe. ^^ On another note, I would appreciate any help with changing lights, so they don't affect framerate... Just send me a message if you know how to erase 'light framerate issues'. Thanks.
Can anyone else spot the irony? Yeah, maybe UDK is a bit intimidating at first, but its just a set a tools. UDK isn't even just for making games, it has other great applications such as art, film, and simulation. Forge can be used in the same way I guess, but is much more restrictive. In terms of people seeing your work, consider the following: How many maps are used in actual custom games from the forge community in the broader scope of the Halo community? I would guess only the infection maps, considering the dwindling competitive community. There isn't that large of a community wanting to play on serious maps, and with newer games coming out this year and beyond, it will continue to shrink. How often does anyone here play on other people's maps outside of a testing lobby? I would guess for a majority, never. Keyword being majority. This doesn't count the "forging circles" (for the lack of a better phrase) that have developed within the community. I can almost guarantee Goat and Demption have no problem getting people to play their maps, because they are more iconic members in the community. What they push also tends to be what sticks. Nothing against them, in fact I respect both of them greatly, it's just the way it is. This just isn't a reality for most people, and it further alienates the majority. Furthermore, Halo 5 just doesn't feel like a Halo game, and I doubt Halo 6 will be the game hardcore and old-school Halo fans will want. Sprint, abilities, and other mechanics have made the game unrecognizable, to the point where I feel they should just give the game a different name altogether. Long story short, I enjoyed legos when I was little too, but Halo just isn't what it use to be. If you wanna draw, you learn how to use a pencil. You wanna make a map for a game, then learn how to use tools to make a map, and stop playing with legos. Halo is dead. /rant
I'd have to say this wins the award for map that looks like it's a different game than Halo. Honestly, until I saw the weapon, it looked like a cool level in a different game. Great job with the innovative aesthetic.
Too simple? --- Double Post Merged, Oct 18, 2016 --- Uh, what? Are we looking at the same thread? We just burned through like 4 or 5 pages in the past week :/
I swear, every time I start working on an idea for a forge map someone releases something similar a week later.
