Uh hi ive been sitting in forge recently just looking at my half of a map thinking wether i should continue it or just scrap it and get brain storming. heres the screenies of how it looks so far could some one please say if its worth making or not and my current position in this map is ---stuck for ideas--- so it will take a while to finish The sniper bunker angle one. This belongs in forge discussion. Word of advise, power-ups are overused. Sniper spot looks to be promising, but It closely resembles a map section from Renegade. I would say to build off from the sniper spot and trash the sword spawn. However, I like the use of mancannon/grav-lifts underneath the grate floor.
i was going to post in forge discussion but i guess somehow day dreaming ended me up here, the sniper bunker i have had for a while now but yeah it does look like renegades i had the idea from my map vendetta with the half bunker so i tryed to remake, so if i scrap the sword spawn and put what in its place? because i really want to keep my lit up pipes i <3 them
I can't help you there. Just keep geo-merging around the grate. (maybe make a trench system of sorts).
I second that. Anyways, make something out of the sword spawn, not just a hallway. Make it like Blackout, with two floors, with a hole above the sword, which needs to be taken away. Make part of the map inside, with the sword spawn inside. Make the sniper spawn outside.
Sniper bunker looks awesome with the geo-merging and peephole to shoot from. The sword spawn is kinda meh, so you should (like everyone else said) probably just trash it and try something else. Generally when I build maps, I start with a central theme and work off of that rather than just start building random structures, so try that if you get stuck.
I like the idea of the sword spawn, but it looks to basic. spice up the walls a little bit and you could keep it. also bring down the ceiling. the sniper bunker is great though. I'm thinking an open base on either side and a eviscerate sort of building tossed in somewhere, maybe a bridge of fences and leave it open for vehicles, but kind of a windy path, and you'll have a good map.
put some more entry points into the sword hallway. from the sides, but on the second floor, you could have a bridge going across and a whole part of the level filling the second floor. do you get what i'm saying?
Is that last pic really yours? I'm almost absolutely sure I've seen it in someone else's map... Better be yours, or I'm telling yo mama!
