Music volume Effect volume Audio source etc. Marty said in the past that if he does his job well enough people wouldn't even want those options which is stupid.
Reach was the only "annoying" main menu and even then, Bungie built in the neat ability to cancel all menu music simply by starting a search and backing out - a feature that has been lost in 343 Halo.
To me this feels like comparing one sound effect in a movie that is annoying to the composer of the film, who gives the movie its heart, soul and all emotions that come with it. I can't wrap my head around this, I'm sorry...
Saw this in a vidoc somehwere I think... the idea is that if the sound design was high enough quality, players wouldn't want the option to fiddle with sound settings in the first place. Marty's job was the sound design. So if he did his job correctly, you wouldn't feel the need to tune things. Does that help a bit?
Yes it does, thank you. I never had any issue with whatever sound options, never even occured to me. All I know is I'm a big fan of the music he made for these games especially CE and ODST. And just to clarify, some of you blame him for menu music without a volume button or is there more to it? Are there major sound design flaws in these games? I really try to understand what you guys are saying but it sounds kinda nitpicky. No offence.
It's kinda nitpicky. I never really understood why people want to mute the music in a game, especially if it's there for a design reason. Even if it's just background noise or menu music, I'd rather hear bad music than the voices inside my head.
I love his music, but after a 1000+ hours I'd like to able to play my own music without hearing the game's music in the background.
The game volume in MCC is so loud that I can't hear people in party chat over it and there's no option to turn it down lol. **** MCC.
