well, here is a map currently under construction, however i regret to say that its not available to te public this is sneak peak of what you can expect it be. Camo moved Sniper moved Gravity Hammer Rocets moved Sword moved constant explosions Fusion coils falling Description: The weapons have been moved around but for the most part all the same weapons on The Pit are still there with few additions, one including the addition of a gravity Hammer, the other is two fire bomb grenades. this map in unique in the sense that its not just moved around weapons, and ta da you have a new map, that, my friends, is whats known as a rip-off map, this map features about 20 fusion coils falling to the graound always exploding, how ever when i localy tested this map (split screen) i found this to be an issue, so to compensat i bossted the players damage resistance to 300% but i then realized this caussed issues with the ability to kill, so i had to raise the damage modifier to 300% aswell, on head shot kill, one shotgun shell to the stomache kill, everything is still the same, in terms of player vs. player damage, you just wount get killed as easily by the fusion coils. in addition a hammer, two fire bomb grenades and two spartan lasers were added to the map, however the lasers are hidden to prevent from one team comtrolling both lasers. the weapon movments include: sword is now were the active camo used to be, rockets in a whole new spot, active camo in the sword room, the hammer has been placed in "rocket alley" aswell as the addition of a few mor maulers and spikers. Weapons: Battle Rifle: 4 (more may be placed later) Shotgun: 2 Mauler: 6 Sp'laser: 2 Rockets: 1 SMG's: 4 Spiker: 6 Plasma Rifle: 4 Plasma Pistol: 2 Pistol: 2 Brute Shot: 2 Sniper: 2 Turret: 2 Needler: 2 Hammer: 1 Sword: 1 Equipment: Radar Jammer: 1 Regenerator: 2 Power Drainer: 1 Camo: 1 OverSheilds: 1 Grenades: Plasma Grenade: 4 Frag Grenade: 4 Spike Grenade: 6 Fire Bomb: 2
Why post an unfinished map? And the whole "fusion dropping" thing is overrated and overused. The ONLY thing I like was the way you tried to use scenery effectively, but the rest of the map ruined it =/
So you moved a bunch of weapons and screen shots of them moved. Sorry, but I'm not so excited about this "sneak peak."
thank you guys for the feed back ill be sure to take out the dropping fusion coils, an i think i should remove a power weapon, what do you guys think? sword goes, or hammer goes?
It doesnt really look like you did much to the map... and i agree with Fbu the fusion coils take away from the map.
Yea we usually look for some kind of "gimmick" in maps...ones that have no been already used...although I may change this statement for the final copy
You still haven't answered my question. Did you do anything other move a few weapons and put on falling fusion coils?
the only thing you did was move weapons and mak objects (and note that this idea has already been used many many times) fall.
you know, when I make a map, i try to amke somethig new, something that changes the map 360* degrees, and this map doesnt cover that spot...and from my point of view thats the most important thing on forge.
Sneak peaks are over rated. Beta maps are alright, because you can have people tell you what would make it better, but this map looks just bad.
well thank you guys for the critisism(spelling?) i'll take out the sword and perhaps some of the power weapons, and the falling fusion coils are gone. oh and this map does have a bit of a gimmick to it, it has secret rooms in whick you can snipe laser(still in testing) or rocket(same as laser) people with, i'm kind of looking for some help, if anyone wants to help if you have a map that was put in Bng favs or just a widley use map period you obviously have what it takes to mak a good map, so lemme know if you wanna help.
