The New Art Style - My Opinions.

    It seems to me that the Halo community nowadays really dislikes 343's take on the new halo art style, while I do agree with the community on some parts of the new aesthetic, I don't think it looks that terrible. Anyways, I absolutely hate the human art style for the building design and the cartoonish environments- but, I absolutely LOVE what 343 put in to for the sangheilios home world, in my opinion the environments there looked absolutely sick!
    I know by now that my topic is pretty controversial, but I'd thought to give my take on it, The way I see it 343 did a lousy job with the human art style- yet I adore some of their alien designs.

    ( TRIGGER WARNING: I don't hate any of the art styles under the 'Bungie Era' My favorites are Halo REACH and HALO 3, This Post is just my opinion, I'm not trying to make you change yours. )

    Halo 3's everything in terms of graphics, I just loved. How you would run into bushes and they would move. The environmental things you could mess with (bridge on Last Resort (Zanzibar) or the switch to drop down the vehicle barriers, etc). The water was amazing, and is still my favorite water in any Halo game to date. They even made a ViDoc talking solely on the water and all the physics, shaders etc... That's when you know they gave a ****. You shoot water on H5, you see some little quick splash. No ripple or anything. That's a huge nitpick, but to me it shows if they really give a ****. Also I'm pretty sure every piece of vegetation in H5 (I barely play it so I don't really know...) is either static or has an animation that is scripted and can't be messed with via player, vehicle or projectile.

    Even the tbag physics in Halo 3 man... I could go on and on.

    I like the Human stuff all through 4, the Covenant stuff except in 4, and Forerunner stuff until 5.

    I also like black undersuits.

    For Halo 5, I like the super high-tech metallic feel given to the forerunner stuff. However, I feel like it is overdone... I wish we had a mix of both that and the Delta Halo-esc architecture. Just like the mission Regret.

    The Human art blows for the most part.

    Covenant isn't too bad, just wish it could be a little more simple like in the original trilogy.

    Overall, it just feels too cartoony. Compare 4/5 to Reach, the shift in art style is dramatic regarding realism and I think it hurts the game quite a bit.
