I'm not privileged enough to own a decent PC, so I have to start doing some fundraising or something first. Haha. But I'm mentally prepared!
I don't think you'd be able to get modded pieces from the PC onto the xbox one. They've had texture problems already as it is (Soda Can B).
No, because heres the issue: 1. Forge on Windows 10 will most likely require a constant connection/unmodified version of the game. 2. Assuming you got past that, your assets wouldnt be visible to other players, aka game crashes/refuses to load if a player does not have said mod. So, yeah, if you got past the part about players not having the assets you create, hit me up.
Constant connection for a windows based product wouldnt be an issue for too long, If push comes to shove it may have to be a modified version of the exe (ElDewrito style)
still, players wont have those assets. if players would like to use them they would also have to have a modded version on the forge, which isn't ideal for those that want to leave their files alone.
This is true, i highly doubt it will ever be implemented onto the console....however it is confirmed that custom games will be playable on PC.....whether that means it will be free or if you have to have a live account, or if its purchaseable seperate is to be determined, but all this means is to enjoy the maps youll just have to slap on your computer instead of your console....and this is all speculation anyway since there isnt much to go off of yet, still doesnt mean i cant get the assets ready now for speedy access
Your enthusiasm is appreciated, but as others have said, it may be a while before you can use those assets even in a local capacity. Aside from Windows Store apps being particularly nasty to mod, all a Forge map really is is just the uniform map with an extra file that tells the game what pre-existing assets to use and where. In other words, anything other than reskin replacements are going to be a pain in the ass (and they might not even be that easy, depending on how "new" the engine really is in H5), and in order for anyone else to see what you see, they need the exact same modifications done in the same places. But yeah, we'll see what happens. Maybe it'll be a breeze to mod (err, once we figure out the whole UWP thing), but I really doubt it.
