I would like to put forward a video tutorial request to the Forgehub Team, Community or maybe just at @Given To Fly on how to forge landscapes. I've never had the knack for doing it in any editor I've ever tried. Forge is simple, but I can't seem to find the best way to stick the pieces together without them ultimately looking like what my old gym teacher refereed to as, a dogs breakfast. Ya, so my new map is built within a beautiful forest on a secluded Island. If my YouTube searching skills happen to suck and there's already an awesome Halo 5 Forge landscape tutorial out there, please toss me a link. If not I'm sure a full breakdown on techniques and and efficient landscape object usage would be greatly beneficial to many. If anyone dares take on this task, please give us the fully Dummy's guide to terrain building. I would recommend a second video on placing trees, bushes, vines ect to achieve the best and most organic look. Again @Given To Fly, I love how well you have sculpted your terrain on Seclusion, especially how shapely the terrain is and how cliff sides and grass meet up so naturally. I'm not saying there couldn't be better examples out there, but it is a map that shows a technique that I would like to see more of, if not learn myself. Thanks in advance to whomever considers taking on the task.
Given is THE best with terrain in my opinion. If he ever finishes and releases his current WIP, you will have an even better example on your hands Maybe you could talk to him? Although he's pretty busy with all the women and drugs and what not.
Why thank you first off! Terrain is something that can really dress up your map, and make it look developer status when done correctly. I would be completely open to doing a video on the topic! Sounds fun! Maybe the FH video crew could adopt me and I can showcase it there. There are more options now for terrain and natural as well so the timing is great. I am also curious as to make my terrain better. Plus, I had no idea you could request videos, I will use this to my advantage in the future.
No, thank you for building a map that isn't strictly BTB that incorporates quality landscape. I typically don't bother downloading maps with landscape because it is either way to freakin big or is just used as a flat object piece. That being said, some of my favorite small to mid size Halo maps have incorporated landscape in interesting ways. I'm sure many give up on the task, based on lack of experience or frustration in the attempt. A collaboration sounds like a brilliant idea. Any thoughts from the video team. @Psychoduck?
