After a quick 12 hour watch of the extended Lord of the Rings last night with Xandrith, I thought it'd be cool if every Monday a few people wanted to all watch a movie together while in a party. It was pretty fun until Xandrith started bitching about how long the movie was when we weren't even halfway through lol but I think 4 or 5 people in a party watching the same movie is a good number. More than that could become chaos lol so if anyone wants in I think we're going to watch Kill Bill this coming monday
I brought mine to watch Civil War. She loves superhero films, but that movie was ass and I got **** blocked afterwards. She wanted to see The Jungle Book instead. I already saw it, but it was the better film.
It was a boring 2 hour trailer about a dull character leading up to a mediocre action set piece filled with fan service most people don't care about. It's the first movie I wanted to walk out of, but I had already convinced my woman to watch it with me, so...
I'd have to question anyone's taste in movies if they found Civil War anything more than mediocre. It would have been one of the dullest super hero movies if it weren't for Ant Man and Spider Man, but then why am I watching an ensemble super hero cast for two cameo characters? RDJ completely phoned it in. It felt like they squeezed the life out of all of the characters and those were the only two who brought it back to the film. Deadpool and Ant Man are the only good super hero flicks in the last two years because they don't take themselves seriously at all. This movie on the other hand was too heavy handed for its own good. Bats v Supes was even worse and don't get me started on Fantastic Flop. I'm not invested enough in this franchise to pick apart the film beyond acknowledging that I found it difficult to sit through in the theater. I'm open minded about most movies and I was excited for this one. I wasn't expecting anything moving but at the very least I thought I'd get a see a good popcorn flick. But I found it boring and I left being disappointed. So much happened in the film, and yet I look back on it and feel like it was a worthless addition to the franchise, such so that I could have skipped watching it and not felt like I missed out. I'm sure the same can be said of other Marvel films in the MCU (Thor 2), but this one had an exceptionally by the numbers plot, the same old character development and a weakass villain with a lackluster payoff. You know your film is missing good action when you have to slow mo The Winter Soldier mounting a bike. Everything cool about the movie happened in the trailers. I've heard that the new xmen is also bloated (as expected) and I'm just rolling my eyes at this point waiting for the super hero fad lose steam. If they can't even make good popcorn flicks, they should stop milking them.
Civil War wasn't nearly as good as I was expecting it to be. Spidey was awesome. I both loved and hated that they tore Ironman and Cap apart bc I was oddly invested in their friendship, so that basically saved the movie for me...although it wasn't done as well as I wanted. All that said, I still loved it. Just not as much as I anticipated. Xandrith just make a business by loaning yourself out to watch movies with people. Multi would have paid if you held out a bit longer, and Dunco already offered. I'm down as well. Could be a lucrative venture.
I have to question anyone who thought Ant Man was better than any of the other marvel movies. Hilariously generic plot with mediocre acting. All of the Captain America movies were more about character building than the rest of the marvel universe films, and I really like that about them. More story, less explosion. --- Double Post Merged, May 20, 2016 --- I watched every second of that movie with multi.
And it was still more interesting than Civil Bore. You don't watch super hero movies for character development because the premise of half of them are ****ing retarded.
What? That is literally exactly why you watch them. The evolution of the character is the best part of any superhero movie or comic, lmao I mean, think about any other movie with action. Do people like lord of the rings for the epic fighting scenes or the characters and story? of course it's the latter, and It's exactly the same thing, but lord of the rings isn't labeled a superhero movie
You could use literally any movie with action as an example people generally don't watch movies for explosions or slomo scenes, they watch for the story and characters
I mean that's a given, unless the action is the premise of the film. I just didn't find the premise of Civil War compelling and the action didn't work as a distraction from it, so I was bored.
Anyways, what movie do you have planned for next Monday Multi? And will you be wearing a costume? Also, will it be bluray or dvd?
