Perhaps, but it's more related to my fear of failure, which then breeds indecisiveness and doubt. A good artist is always aware of their creation's imperfections, but I think a great artist is someone who learns to accept them.

Sue me I forge for myself, and I am hard to please. I also don't forge for the artistic side of things. I have recently started trying to make things look better because I have realized that environment art plays a big role in gameplay, but forge has never been my creative dump.

I'm tired of people stating opinions as facts. I like playing on darklings map, I thought it had competitive qualities. These are my opinions. Others may disagree, that is their opinion. The end. Regarding the OP. In my opinion, maps themselves are not competitive. People can play a game competitively on a map or play it for fun. The map merely alters the experience as it may have qualities, or traits that are more or less desirable for different styles of play or game types. Goats example of ssb is a good one. Maps like final destination have competitive traits, but you can easily use the map for non competitive games. Likewise, you can play a competive game on maps that aren't tournament legal. everyone has different opinions of which traits are better than others for competitive gameplay. The 2v2 tournament is a perfect example, each judge ranked maps in different orders. People in the forums can differ their opinions even more. Everyone has a bias. Sure you can just say that you built a map with what you believe are competitive qualities... But that doesn't roll off the tounge now does it.
Uhm, I was besties with an interior designer and read a bunch of her books and trade magazines. I have artists amd musicians in my family tree. I watch a big buttload of HGTV. I took art classes in High School 8 billion years ago. Until Halo 5 **** blocked my creative know how, I have completed actual maps and gametypes in Halo 3, Reach and H2A (**** Halo 4). My mother's friend is married to a former Disney artist who was trained by the old masters themselves and has given me great pointers and let me use some of his very precious color pens. I have owned and read "How to Draw the Marvel Way". Do I qualify to have an opinion? Because this thread is far from pointless. Please keep creating, it's the joy of the fresh and new, the rule breakers, the old masters, the hidden or unexpected jewels that come from many unknown hands dipping into the same well, and spinning straw into gold...and shooting you in the face on map testing day
lol you think I was trying to hide it? I told multiple people I was going to be on this account. I just recently found out this account was usable again. All you have to do is look at my posting history to find out who I am. I cannot believe you went through the trouble to track down ip logins.
