I hope you're still looking for a better name. Even DoomHub would have been preferable. Doomnetwork sounds too corporate. I would give you suggestions but my brain is currently blank. Maybe someone creative will help.
Never said it did, but it's still better than Doomnetwork. Imagine if we were called Forgenetwork. "Hub" beats "Network" if you want to sound community without sounding business. I'm not promoting DoomHub just saying that maybe a little more brainstorming is in order.
DoomRoom, DoomGloom, DoomWho?, DoomClue, DoomPoo, DoomShoe, DoomTomb, DoomTube. Dr. Seuss would be proud.
You think Dr. Seuss would settle for those poor rhymes? DoomRoom is pretty good though. Also, I'm pretty sure DoomWorld is an already fairly well established Doom website
I could do 'DoomLevels' but I think 'DoomNetwork' appeals to a wider community base rather than exclusively focusing on those interested in the level editor.
I think specifically focusing on level design is the best way to grow the site community. It's the same thing for forgehub isn't it? We're specialized, not a general halo forum. The second you try to appeal to everyone is when you lose. That being said. Doom hub is still the best.
I like DoomHub for it's casual way of associating itself with ForgeHub. I like DoomTomb cause it sounds cool and like a place you would store Doom stuff.
The problem with using "Hub" is that it'll get bought out and become "Discovery Family" something. Discovery Family Doom? Are you kidding me? Hmmmm...
I never said the editor looked great? It's actually a pretty commonplace complaint among Doom forums. That being said Doom and map creation are synonymous and their community has a larger following in level design than any other game, period.
Their level editor maybe a little simplistic in places but it also slaughters the Forge in a number of places. I would be in heaven if we could get some of these things added to the Forge. Being able to create on the PC and play on console is a big step (Although UT3 on PS3 had this first) and let's not forget the ability to add AI.
