I know most of you guys can likely forge anything you put your mind to so I'm posting this thread for people to suggest map styles they would like to see you try out. I'm curious to see how people approach designing a map that is a little out of their comfort zone. I'll start off with a couple of my own suggestions. @a Chunk , a squad or BTB map that must incorporate vehicles in some way @Xandrith , a 4v4 with only subtle verticality. @Box_Knows , a terrain map supporting 8 players or less. 20% may be structure @MultiLockOn , a 1v1 on Ascendance using WHITE structure @A 3 Legged Goat , a map supporting 8 players or less that uses no naturals @purely fat, an infection map @Demption , a 4v4 themed after a popular movie like Star Wars, Alien, or Indiana Jones
I'll sell my xbox before I make a map without terrain. I'll bite though @no god anywhere A map that isn't a remake @SecretSchnitzel A map that isn't a reimagination @MultiLockOn A map without teleporters @Xandrith A map without rooms @SoloXIII A map without hallways @purely fat A map with a real name @Res An asym @Zombievillan A map without genitals on it @Squally DaBeanz Stigma but good @The Fated Fire A map for anti heroes @NOKYARD A grifball court on Standoff @SH1FTY Baby Eagle Square @a Chunk Anything but Epicenter @xzamplez A map in Halo
You could make the structures organic looking. Its supposed to be a challenge. If its too hard, its cool I guess.
I have a few structure only maps that don't have layouts yet. I hate using blocks and magnets though.
Cool thread! @The 0micron an urban infection map; @Psychoduck & @Flying Shoe ILR another iteration of S-Bend; @PA1NTS a co-forged Last Stand map with me; @The 0micron heck, same goes for you buddy: a co-forged Last Stand; @Zandril a minigame; @Insanmiac a racetrack; @Elliot a map in Halo 5.
I've wanted to do another Linear-Infection map since Halo 5 forge came out! Hopefully the mode we are getting will be able to support it. I'm not sure If I would bring back S-Bend though, maybe a different theme or even a return to Dust on the Horizon from Reach.
Don't hesitate to count me in on whatever front you'd have in mind. I'd love to be of value, Linear maps are awesome.
@A 3 Legged Goat **** you @MultiLockOn **** you I used to make a lot of inverse symm maps, and I'm sure If I revisited it I could make something interesting considering how many I've made, so It's not out of my comfort zone. I don't think anything is out of my comfort zone at this point, I just have a style. I am actively trying to mix it up, so hopefully I'll see some progress.
Not all of my maps are reimaginations, and calling some of the others reimaginations is a stretch. I just happen to be honest about where I pull inspiration from. And no, I don't have a "comfort zone" that I've ever stuck to. I branch out and try different genres fairly often (for someone that doesn't forge often).
