Here's something I'm working on at the moment...putting this up here as a place to collect my thoughts, feedback etc. It's a standard CTF / Slayer map set in a sandtrap-ish temple. As you can see I've got an incineration cannon, OS and a Halo CE pistol as the featured weapons. I made faux weapon pad for the CE Pistol - I wanna try to treat it as a power weapon on this map, since it's so OP. It's really early at this point, but I hope to get some tests / feedback on it soon and start molding it into something tighter. Here are some pics: Spoiler: Images And here's a link to the current version in case you wanna look at it: https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/...t Sounds_78a2b318-8a9c-4182-b72a-5d5463bb3624
Made some more updates to this one. Added a lot of aesthetic stuff, moved the magnum around, replaced it on the pad with a needler, switched one side to be a dock on the lake, added some geometry to create a second floor / basement, switched the teleports near the weapon pad for lifts and did some work on the bases. At this moment I'm still unsure of the power weapon...These images have a Fuel Rod but I may go back to the IC or change it to something else. I've only got one weapon pad on the map, so I wanna put something with lots of power there. Here are some images from the most recent build: Spoiler: Images
I played it and really loved the turret spots. It would be nice if you would remove the mounds blocking the killzone for the turrets though.
Been doing some more work / testing on this one. Seems to be coming along quickly...Here's a full match of Slayer on it from last night.
What a beautiful map! The architecture being consistent adds a lot of flavor. I love the water, as well. My main reservations are that I personally am not a fan of the color scheme, but I might be the odd on out; and also that the green light at the apex is extremely invasive (is it actually just the overshield?)--it makes it hard for me to see anything and it always demands my attention. I would personally like to see this map with overcast and whatever the fog filter is that looks like snow--but that's just me! In general I think this is a fantastic map!
Thanks for the feedback! I'm anticipating adding more aesthetic detail to the map, at this point I still have 300-400 pieces left to play with. I'll take into consideration the things you mentioned as I take another pass through it...The green light will probably be changed in the process
