I'm working on a 1v1, possibly 2v2 map set within a southwestern US canyon. The map is mostly natural, aside from the center structure which is supposed to be a solid gold monument of sorts created by native americans. Think cibola, el dorado. Still not happy with the center though and I'll definitely improve on it.
4v4 I'm working on. Rise. Meant to be played with Strongholds. Can't make it as pretty as I would like because budget. Spoiler
When did they extend the range/volume of the sound effects? I just went back into my old map and the sounds were overwhelming.
I had the same experience after the last update. You can hear stuff on the other side of my map you used to only be able to faintly hear when standing on top of them.
We're looking at creating a site similar to ForgeHub for Doom that will hopefully release early May. The site will be called 'DoomNetwork' and will use the existing framework from ForgeHub. Currently registered users will be able to log on to 'www.DoomNetwork.com' and use their existing accounts. You will not be required to create a new account, simply log in with your existing ForgeHub credentials. Will post some screenshots of the site later this month. Anyone that is interested in Doom and their level editor, SNAP MAP, are welcome to join!
We will create something similar to Halo where users are asked to select from multiple games and platforms before entering the map submission section. Will have 3 options to choose from when adding your Doom maps: PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
I don't understand the hype with DOOM I think it looks like ****. But hey if you guys like it more power to you, enjoy the forum.
The multiplayer is borked beyond belief, but the Single Player and the mass potential for Snap Map will probably be the saving grace of the game.
DOOM is certainly not a game I would put any marbles into. I was initially hyped by the prospect of having an arena shooter on console and of course the Snap Map tool, but after keeping a close tab on the game it's definitely a huge flop. The game will last maybe 3-4 weeks at most before falling into obscurity.
If Doom becomes the arena shooter It could be, I could see spending a lot of time designing for the game and playing it. I heard that snap map is max 4 players, so we at least know that we will be able to play 1v1s/2v2s, which will be wayyy better. While the game has a ton of problems, it's the most fun I've had on this console. If we get even starts, faster movement, and no demon rune for smaller player counts, Doom will become my new home for sure. Viva La DoomNetwork!
