Made some progress on my steel factory for the upcoming infection game mode. Mainly I am just building this map to get a better grasp of how lighting works (still working on that part). It will most likely not play well with its current layout, but at least it looks nice. EDIT: Is there anything in particular I should know about when switching light baking on and off ? What exactly does it accomplish? Thanks.
If you break 100% lighting: Turn it off on everything and then turn it on where shadows are cast IF and where you have issues. Otherwise: If it stays under 100% with everything on, leave it on. Note: In completely enclosed maps, shadows are cast on every object.
I used Reach's forge to help build out a large concession stand/storage shed for my design class in High School. I then took what I built out and drew the 2D layout for it and submitted it. I really enjoyed my design class.
That's pretty awesome. I was doing some woodworking stuff and I honestly felt like my many years of forging allowed me to think more creatively.
Having experience in different design backgrounds can really help build upon creativity. Forge has taught me that even though there are set rules and limitations there is always a clever way to break those rules and limitations and make something know one expects.
