Don't read too much into this, but as soon as I saw your screenshot I immediately thought of Isolation from H3. Do you, or anyone else, have an example of a symmetrical map that accomplishes some or all of the things you listed? I can get an idea in my head of what you're describing but would like an example so I can see these concepts applied. I agree with your notions I just can't think of a map off the top of my head that does all of these things.
The internet works fine, it's 343 that doesn't. Not all of them, but mainly the leadership. I don't feel like they are strict bosses. I feel like deadlines are constantly pushed back, and real work is only focused on every other week (sprints) which would seem okay, but given that there are so many problems with the game overall means the sprints need to stop and people need to be doing their jobs, not taking vacations.
So apparently this is a worldwide thing. Halo 5 doesn't seem to be working for anyone. Why does this seem like a daily thing with this game
If you're in a public bathroom all day you'll hear a turd drop occasionally, same goes for playing any game all the time. Maybe take a break and play something else while 343 chases down their cloud servers with a bug net. I heard Plants Vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2 is super competitive this time around, you should 1v1 me.
Don't the servers normally hiccup like this pending an update / patch? I also had a general XBO firmware update earlier today.
This is the ultimate xzample of how you should design. --- Double Post Merged, Mar 16, 2016 --- This has been answered but I'll repeat.... 343
It's an XBL problem, not a Halo 5 problem. Microsoft really should make the service free if it's going to be this spotty or they should compensate XBL accounts for being down more often than not the past few months.
apparently Forge isn't running on the Xbox at all. We're basically streaming it. Explains why I can do everything just fine in other games but I go into Forge and the smallest gif will make me lag.
Just keep getting kicked back to the main screen. I'm gonna check and see what I lost and go to bed. My current life.
Going offline mode until 3 of my wips are complete and ready for playtesting. When I emerge Xandrith can finally stop smack talking my ability to finish maps and ill start playing customs. See everyone in about a month or two! Lol "What you in a rush for, its all about timing, soon as you on you know the limits the sky!" SKB Out.
Testing a map later today. Let me know if your interested. Here's a preview: Need 10-16 players. Feedback appreciated
What I've noticed is that most asyms are inverse syms with one side having different geometry but similar pathing. Guardian and Lockout are obvious examples of a "symmetric asym".
I've never considered construct an asym... It's like a symmetrical map that was too afraid to be itself so it changed 1 path to make it fit in better. That said, I think it plays pretty asymmetrically now that I think about it, although not because of the one asymmetric route it has. It seems to be longer on the z-axis than the x or y. Taking that into account it's almost as if it is symmetrical (mostly) on the x and y plane like we are used to, but asymmetrical along the more relevant z-axis. Of course it is only more relevant because of how vertical Construct is. Kind of a cool concept for whoever originally asked: symmetric on the x and y plane, but plays asymmetrically because of the sheer verticality. But then again, this is probably just crazy speak. Just tryna fit in wit da map design gurus, ya know?
Would anyone with a speciality in lighting and/or aesthetics wanna help co-forge my "The Yard" map? The layout is done, I could just use a second opinion on aesthetics and lighting isn't my best skill. I'll be on all of tomorrow and can help you test!
No gurus here just a bunch of nerds trying to speak off of experience and what they have seen from others.
Construct may be considered pseudo-symmetrical but the differences that it has although seem subtle actually play extremely asymmetrically.
