Hello. Ive been crafting 2 v 2 gametypes and settings for too many years now (and will soon once I actually get Halo 5). 343 Halo's have often neglected 2 v 2 play in terms of map size and sandbox design. Luckily in Halo 4, we were able to modify developer maps to cater towards 2 v 2 play, so we didnt have to play exclusively on forge maps. Examples are Warhouse (an adrift remake) and Fallout, which even got into MM The latest forge has given people the tools to edit dev maps with much more capability, but ive yet to see many people take advantage of that. 2 v 2 is struggling in this game, does anyone have ideas or is willing to take up the challenge to modify layouts of 343 maps to create some cool knock offs?
I think most people would much rather build a 2v2 map from the ground up, but it is an interesting Idea.
Oh of course, but if we're to make a 2 v 2 gametype list it would be nice for it not to be 100% forge
Like Xandrith said, scratch 2v2 maps defiantly allow for more fluidity... BUT, most of H5's stock maps play trash with 2v2 so remixes like the ones you showed in H4 would defiantly be appreciated!
I was just wondering if the non-Forge maps could be altered to play in entirely new ways or to massively change game types, but nothing is jumping out at me yet. Extra walls (like a maze) and teleporters might make things far more surprising and frantic.
I would assume that's what he meant judging by that video of the altered Landfall. He might use maps like these for Gold Pro, kind of like the MLG modified disc maps back In Reach.
Thinking too much, simple walls to block off areas (look at the OP, walls cut off the outside of landfall), not mazes or anything like to make the maps play more basic rather than more frantic
I was going the other way with it, heheh. I like having lots of options, so it'd definitely be nice to see a play list like you're describing. More thinking too much: Wonder if a map can have frantic areas and basic play areas, or if one area would just be ignored. Wonder if two classic maps (say Lockout and Ascendance), or parts of, could be joined together and somehow work. What are some of your favorite past map areas? What works about them? I liked Lockout's lift for the vertical movement, hiding spots and varied sight lines. Crashed Pelicans anywhere for some reason. Ugh I can't recall anything right now.
