Like I'm a good forger but idk how to make maps that are like midship, haven, countdown like maps from past halo games it's hard
Hey Patriot, welcome to Forgehub. You might be a good forger, but map design is a completely different animal. To steal a metaphor from art: everyone's got at least a hundred bad maps in them - You just need to make all the bad ones before the good ones come out. =) Here's a classic article from one of the Bungie map designers worked on a Halo: Reach map, The Cage. By reading it, you can see a lot of the process used - starting off at a high level layout, and gradually moving in as flow. Until you find what works for you, I recommend trying something similar. And, don't forget, Forgehub's got its own stickied post of Forging guides and resources. Beyond that, I can't stress the importance of find some customs players who don't mind testing maps. There's nothing more valuable to improving your map than having real players run around on it. The best way to get other players to test your map... is to offer to test theirs, with no expectation of reciprocation. You'll learn a lot by seeing what other people are working on, and being someone who honestly wants to help other people is a good way to make friends. I'd also recommend making early versions of your maps in "blockout" form. That is, don't worry too much about aesthetics, since things are likely to get changed after you get feedback. Also, anytime someone gives you feedback on your map (even if they trash it), thank them. They just spent their free time helping you improve (even if they weren't tactful about it) (Also, friendly suggestion to spend a little more time on the grammar of your posts - Nobody here is an English teacher, but I think you'll find people respond better to well-formatted requests)
