How's it laughable?? If I don't know about it then so ****ing what? I don't spend my time learning about tha layers that allow the appearance of bullet holes and explosions. I spend my time making maps. You may know about all the terminology and what this **** means, but that's also because you clearly have experience and a much more firm understanding of this than I do. As chunk basically said. That's why I really hope you send that link because it's more knowledge I'll have about it. I am using my few years understanding of 3D imaging and design. So yeah, be an ass. If that helps me understand the blocks I use, then I'll be stoked.
Its laughable because in your ogrinal post you acted like you had a defenitive knowledge on the subject matter when it is clear you know very little. I may have came off a bit rude in my first post but I was legitimately dumfounded. Anyone that spends 10mins merging primitives together or looking at them closely cld easily tell most "desgins" on them aren't 2d textures but real 3d geometric shapes made up of polygons. A 6th grader could figure that out based on simple observation..... Anyone that has forged for more than two weeks should know what a collision boundary is, which also is made up of "invisible" polygons. If your not knowledgeable on a subject, ask. Don't toute yourself as knowledgeable when you aren't and than proceed to act like a asshat about it. You are one of the most cancerous persons i have ever encountered on the internet. The my shot don't stink but yours does attitude is diabetes.
says the **** suck with the experience, and the apparent knowledge of every single polygon in halo existence. i just talked to three other people and they also have the exact same thought. The blocks look like they just have textures and designs put onto the blocks. And they think that because to them it would make sense to cluster **** a bunch of polygons when you DONT need to. It would be less stress on the engine, even if its only a little bit of less stress. you are experienced with it and have the knowledge for it, and your arrogance on top of your **** grammar. Thinks since you know this, that everyone else will know it as well. And in my "original" post i was using my knowledge of 3D editing with autodesk and sketchup. my thoughts on the state of the objects and their imagery, based off of my experience. So go ahead and be "dumbfounded" and try to blast with your "definitive" knowledge. I will just sit here and wait for that link to back up your 6th grader spelled reasoning.
To be quite honest I cant find the orginal location i read about some primitves having upwards of 1000 polygons, but I will find it or ask a modder to do it for me. It was specifaclly detaling the polygond on the block 16x16x8. Look at it in game yourself. Detailed observation will easily show that most primitives, even simple ones, have 100 or so polygons. Even the small minisucle textures and lines have beveled edges on them. The wastefulness is sickening. I'm in agreeance with you that it is a complete and udder waste. There is no logical reason that "primitives" should have anyore than 50 polygons (remember, collison boundaries you can't see also have polygons). When I do find it, I will link you. I won't respond to your diabetic comments. You've got some serious rage issues bruh, get that checked out.
This entire conversation could have gone better. Neither of you did not use self control. This is not the proper use of this forum. I suggest both of you take leave and relax, before it gets any worse. Don't continue, even if you try to apologize. Can't trust you two to not throw more insults to each other.
The butrhurt ends here. The interwebz are safe again, everyone can come out to play. I'm working on a fun btb project based on map desgin of sword base, standoff and boarding action. It will be an urban map with art based off of day after tommrow. My goal will be to reach a level of visual fidelity and immerseve atmosphere equal to or surpassing that of scvanger by commander colson. Will it happen? Prob not but why not set the bar high
Why did this thread turn into arguments about blocks? They clearly have grooves and features to them that are pointless, not to mention every corner and edge is rounded which adds up too. What a pointless arguments I came here to see cool shtuff not beaches beaching. Now, bring forth the map pictures.
