    Man, I'm either paranoid or a lot of you guys probably don't like me lol. I feel like I've done some of the stuff being complained about. I posted pics of progress of my maps in the WAYWO but I thought that's what it was for, I'd rather do that then a whole seperate thread. I got a butt load of likes too but that was never my intention. I've also mentioned how long I've been forging too but never to boast & hopefully it never came off that way. I also came from the H2-H3 era so I don't have this "CE mentality" but I'll say this, I liked to forge. Only "rules" I ever went by were just gimmes like block off the map so they can't break it, don't put an OS next to a 3 spare clip Rocket on the highest point of your map. All I do is try to make maps & hope everyone likes them & if not, sorry brah. I've also made my first H5 map with forerunner aesthetics :( .... All of my man parts are still in tact. Maybe I'm butt hurt or have too many feelings or something. Maybe my wife is on her period, I hear that stuff rubs off on you.

    You're paranoid, heheh. I'm pretty sure we'll all be playing on and appreciating that map soon. As long as you don't rub that period on us in turn, then I'll say congrats for that map and for retaining your man parts.

    H3 Ranked Squad Battle was my heat, I was super pissed they took it out. I had just broke into the low 40s. :'(

    Also, Epic Elephant flag driving got crazy. I remember each team grabbing the other teams Elephant and they both ended up next to each other in the middle of the map. Man that was a blast.

    • Forgers, who make competitive maps and think it makes them superior over forgers from other categories, should ****ing get off their high horses and take Sokrates' dictum to heart: οἶδα οὐκ εἰδώς

    • Stone textures from H2A, where did you go?
    • Hemorrhage One Bomb, Territories, One Flag forever
    • BTB Heavies: Superb in Halo 3, cancerous in Halo Reach

    • Blood Gulch and all its spawn are and always have been awful.
    • H2 sucks.
    • H3 sucks.
    • The concept of "safe spawns" is often taken to an extreme that negatively affects the map when teams are more organised.
    • Y'all need to ease up with all the H2 BRs on H5 maps. That thing is literally an "I win" button at most common engagement ranges.
    • H5's sandbox is the best we've had in a long time.
    • Too. Many. Remakes.
    • The Spartan Laser should never have existed.
    • Bungie did just as much, if not more damage to Halo's gameplay over the years as 343 has done. At least 343 broke the cycle of each subsequent game getting worse (not that H4 was a particularly high bar to overcome).
    • Map playtests need to include a stacked team vs a full team of people with Forger's Pistol syndrome every now and then just to really stress your spawn systems.
    • People who rage quit playtests because the teams are imbalanced need to suck it up and accept that when you're playtesting for someone you're not there to have fun; you're a QA resource.
    • Films, especially with Oracle mode, are better feedback than 99% of players are either capable of or inclined to give.

    Jetpack is the best thing and worst thing that's ever happened to halo.

    Reach was funner than halo 1, 2, 3 and better than H2a, 4 and 5

    To date, no other forger has made a variety of differing "broken" gameplay work on an extremely high competive and meta level like I have.
    (Low Gravity Combat Simulator, Aquelia Crysaetos, Turtles Nesting, "Halo Wars" on Scorpions Pass, Swag Crow, Muskrat)

    The Wall Coli from Halo Reach was the best piece ever.

    Halo Wars on Scorpions Pass has the most meta of any halo forge map\game type created ever. Get on my level.

    Jetpack is for hero's.

    I think Halo should have a full on 64 player gamemode like battlefield with as many vehicles from the halo universe as possible.

    I haven't been good at forge since halo reach.

    The WAYWO thread is meant for forge projects. I don't care if it's an idea wrote in text, a hand drawn layout, blockout pictures, or a map ready for testing. I want to see what people are working on. I love forge so much that half the time I'm just more interested in what other people are forging. As for mentioning you have been around since H3, I do that a lot as well. I think most people understand we aren't bragging. I usually mention it to compare forging styles, how the forging scene has changed and how it's similar. Who would brag about being around a forum longer than someone else? LOL. I understand that just because I've been forging since H3 that doesn't make me a superior forger. I realize that there are people who first started forging in reach, h4, or H2a who are better than me. I'm assuming that there are people who first started forging in h5 who is or will be better than me in time as well. So don't sweat it dude.

    - If you claim you can make a better Midship than Midship, then mention reworking Simplex, you've already lost.
    - The Incineration Cannon and the Binary are underrated.
    - Splinter Grenades are fine. Most of the Arena maps only have one pair. Stop exaggerating their usage.
    - Epitaph (Epilogue) would've been a better map in the MLG circuit than Construct and Amplified.
    - Two-way portals can die in a fire.
    - I am convinced that A Chunk cannot escape from his "Epic" designs. He is cursed.
    - Overgrowth is not the worst Halo map ever. Not even in the top ten.
    - Bungie went from shine to ****. I think 343 started off badly, but their games are getting progressively better.

    I'm surprised you've managed to block out the repugnant maps of Halo 4, Reach, and 3. Overgrowth, to me, is a poor man's Rat Race. I'll gladly take that over Boardwalk, Solace, and Snowbound.

    I personally enjoyed boardwalk and snowbound. As for solace, well I didn't like it but I still think it was better than overgrowth.

    I don't see anything wrong with 'stealing' other peoples ideas, as long as you don't claim they were yours to begin with.

    As far as I'm concerned, a forge map is like an open source project - once it's available to the public, it no longer belongs exclusively to the creator. (Of course, I'm not talking about entire maps - I wouldn't be okay with someone taking another persons WIP, and then polishing and releasing it as their map.)

    I hope nobody thinks this is directed at them personally. It's an opinion I've held for as long as I've been forging, and which I've discussed openly with others on some occasions.

    I like those occasional moments when a new way to use the editor is discovered (until it reaches 4chub status).

    None of us own Forge obviously, but when those waves happen I do find the blatant "copy pasta" somewhat off putting. It's like, you have this cool new thing you can use now, so why not do something new and creative with it to keep the ball rolling?

    I've found that these opinions are deemed "unpopular":

    I creating like really intricate and tight spaces were players are constantly able to weave in and out of combat, making flanking and maneuvering around each other multiple times in a single interaction possible. I've been told this is very "un-MLG" because it "makes it easier for noobs to compete with skilled players" and "makes gameplay more about learning the level, tactics, and teamwork, than reaction time and reticule control".

    One-way shield doors are my flavorite. I would never use them as they were designed in a competitive level, but puzzle maps and mini-game starts have much more functionality available to them when we have them. Also, I use them to create zip-lines and other similar map features.
