This map is so pleasing to look at! Fantastic job with the colour pallet btw Looks like it could make it into matchmaking, very nice forging. If i had to say something bad about this map the only thing i can come up with is the lack of detailing for the natural rock terrain but even then thats pushing it xD Anyway if you are looking to improve the map you guys should try mixing different rock textures together.
Yes! I loved this map in Halo 3 and was hoping someone would remake it. The aesthetics look amazing. Hopefully it gets into matchmaking.
I remember playing this in Halo 3. Loved the variant due to its inclines. This has some nice detail. Good work.
Thanks for the feedback. The rock wall are a bit tricky when it comes to Grifball. I originally had it vary more, but I was running into issues with inconsistencies and with the requirements of the grifball maps having to be air tight (invisible barriers), having protruding rocks through the barriers was kind of difficult to manage. I will look into it though and thank you again. I know there are those like you and I, I absolutely loved this map as well. Whether or not if it's even considered for MM, I am happy with it and plan on doing more variants of the inclined grifball maps. Thanks, with the help of some of the guys on the Creative Force team, they made map jump in the aesthetic department. Same! Can't wait to play it more in some customs. Full of nostalgic memories.
I would review this, but that would be a bit unfair considering almost all of the texturing work was me, and that would be unfair. XD 5/7 bro.
Funny thing is, I never saw any frame rate drops with this version. Earlier versions had the smoke/fog effect in the middle, not that caused huge frame rate loss. But what I found out was, the way I was using the flames, the haziness was causing a distortion of map behind the flames, causing it to look like it was indeed dropping frames. So I decided against that and went along with the decal trick. I wish I could add a little more liveliness to the bottom (flames, moving rocks, smoke), but it still looks great.
