Working on a new game-type. It will be a free-for-all involving a lot of grenades and specific power weapons. The game-type, for now, only takes place on custom Breakout maps. I do not want to go into a lot of details for possibility of map/game-type theft... Ya' filthy animals...
Agreed with Seth on all of this. I ran around the map today, Xandrith, and one thing that irked me was how awkward coming out of he sniper tele was. It was slightly indented already, so I'm not sure if I saw the same version Seth is talking about or an attempted fix. Either way, I think you need more room to get your bearings after coming through the tele. Aside from that I thought the map as a whole looked pretty great! Keep it up.
That entire room is far from finished. I didn't do a very good job of letting everyone know that, but that tele will be a lot better when the room is done. I am also playing with the Idea of putting the receiver on the high middle structure and replacing the window with a door leading to bottom mid.

Thanks man! I didn't want to post anything until I had a bit more complete, but I was having a blast and I really liked the way it's turning out. It's crazy how upscaled I had to make everything to make it feel less clastrophobic though. EDIT: WIP
@Xandrith so I looked around the map. I think it'd be much better if it was made for Halo, I don't think any of us would pay to play that. Oh, and sniper tele is so awkward what are you doing man. Also, go suck a ****.
For some reason I always try and develop a circular design in every Halo game. This is a semi-detailed blockout of a 2v2 I've been working on, and I'm liking what I've got so far but I think I'm going to shelve this until after the contest because I want to alter the design to incorporate duel phaetons a la Squidship . Don't know if that'll be a disaster (actually it probably will be or It'll have to be one or no phaetons), but hey I won't know until I try. Figured I'd show how I've been wasting my time. I'm reworking the original sketch of mine and rebuilding on Alpine since I want mountain in the skybox for the new theme I'm incorporating. I'm also finding the lighting on Parallax messes up the shadows a lot, or at least with the work I've done on it. Might be the location.
I thought I had found a spot on the Rig that didn't get affected by crappy lighting so I went ahead and built a canvas. Good news, turns out it still gets affected by crappy lighting. But it's huge up there. Possible mini-game material grounds. Those 16x16x16 blocks measure the height of the space I thought I had found for good lighting. You can drive around the Hazmat bros in their brohog. (37+ hours of work went into the making of this map. Appreciate the WIP).
I understand For stone, I've found building natural alpine terrain over water looks the closest to stone, albeit a bit glossy. Cobblestone is still a mystery to us.
This looks really nice. After the first picture I was afraid it was gonna be another map with too many floating rings and a light ray in the middle, but it wasn't! Is this inspired by destiny at all? --- Double Post Merged, Feb 10, 2016 --- Test new5 for me today, there are some changes after playing last night.
Thanks and yeah, a bit of Hellmouth (the chain) and a bit of The Reef (the skybox) found it's way into the theme. I didn't want to make the make dirty and gothic and all that like Hive architecture though, it's more tech-based. Still haven't hammered down the final theme though.
Heres a little preview of a map I've been working on. Tested the blockout until my eyes about bled. And since, Black picture and I have been tediously iterating the art. More so him while I sit in the match telling him each thing he builds interferes with an aspect of the gameplay and then redoing it together, making sure as much care is put into it as gameplay. He probably hates me but he's doing a great job! I hope all you guys like it when it hits public beta!
