Every Monday through Thursday I am hosting a "Sweaty Hour" playtesting lobby. The idea is that after Happy Hour from 5-7, we knuckle down and play Halo from 7-9pm PST, matchmaking style, on 4v4 maps. You don't need to be good at Halo, but you do need to bring your `A` game and effort. I fully appreciate getting familiar with maps during the testing stages, rather than getting a game or two in every once in a while and I'm sure others feel the same way. This is to draw in that type of forger that understands that repeat plays are important, not just cycling through maps that people ask to play. The format of this lobby will be that everyone has the option to bring a map to test. Every map we play for that night will be played at a best 2 out of 3 on a single map/gametype combination one after the other. This will ensure that ever time we introduce a map into the lobby you get several chances to dive into the map's features. Utilize callouts, and play to win. This allows people to really get familiar with a map which will bring out feedback that you won't get from just playing it once every few days casually in a loud uncoordinated lobby. Feedback giving won't be expected, but you may find that it comes naturally and you learn about your map in more valuable situations. I'm hoping to keep the content of the lobbies to maps by more veteran forgers. This doesn't mean that your map has to be good or clean or anything. But obvious maps with long bridges and things placed without true intention probably won't be played more than once. If you have a blockout you are testing, a prototype, an idea, that is TOTALLY fine. If there are exploits on a map, but it is in prototype/blockout stage you are not expected to killzone your map or have clean forging. The players will be asked not to exploit a map unless the person who brought the map says it is ok. Violators will be kicked. As well as rude individuals and the like who are just troublesome. So play nice @A Haunted Army. lol... So if you are serious about getting down and dirty with your map and really diving into what makes it tick and making it better. Then feel free to join me from 7pm-9pm PST Monday through Thursday every week. I'll be posting a reminder in this thread every afternoon. You don't have to post your map and you are authorized to bring one map to test per person (including myself). This map doesn't have to be your map so feel free to bring a map to test for a friend (though because of the one map limit you can't get both your map and a friend's tested). I'll do my best to be fair to the map selection and if we miss your map then we will make sure to get to yours next time. Given the repeat plays on maps we will more than likely not get to very many maps which is why I'm doing this many times a week. Also this helps me keep my eye on 4v4 standouts for various reasons.
I think this a great idea to get some customs and testing going. Also, everyone can possibly post feedback here to help make this more effective and popular. It will be nice to have a map test lobby that runs the weekdays. Most of them are just weekends. Ill definitely hit you up
Anyone at all. This is run by just me and is not CF related. Also if nobody brings maps I will always have content that can be tested. Lol...
what are you on about? i always play nice. its not my fault all maps suck. not sure if i can attend though, been getting to sleep earlier at the momnt so i think i'll be sleeping while this is happening. could you give simplexion a test for me regardless?
Yep I'll bring it as my one today for you man. and I'm considering doing an early pacific morning one for weirder timezones depending on interest. I'm an early morning individual so theoretically I could do like 6-8am PST or so.
Sadly I'd be at work in London until 1730GMT most days. Nevermind, great idea for the majority though!

Try hard or die hard? I might be able to do the early morning PST's if you're short on players. If it doesn't wreck the ping, of course. Question - what's the plan on demand? If there's more than 8, are there plans to split off another party?
Just realized you live in an area where people think that it is 3 hours earlier than it actually is. That time no longer works with me. How unfortunate

Lobby is up in about 30 minutes folks! Looking forward to playing with you guys. We'll figure all that out in the future. I'm working on trying to get a remote job so I can be more flexible and run a Sweaty Hour for EU at the proper times as well. No plan for overflow at this point. 8 is cap for me and if things get bigger I'll probably rope CF into sponsoring the event.
