Thats unfortunate to hear, hopefully the BALL game type provides more flexibility with custom options. Would still be worth exploring how one objective point operates nonetheless. Thanks for putting this together, hopefully I have time to make something myself.
Coming as a surprise to nobody, I scrapped Spellbound again. The map I posted yesterday however has taken on an identity of its own. So since I'm no longer attaching what I want out of Spellbound to this map, IDGAF if it plays well or not. I'm still going to play it and tweak it though. Also note to self - use bullet points for the next commentary so I don't repeat words.
A 4-team breakout map with 'partially' supported flag system and support for 16 players. It'll be insane, but that was the goal.
I thought about slightly changing the orientation of my map, but then I realized I'm at a 1000 object count...
Just a peek at a project of mine. Trying to figure out how to make a good looking boat so I can crash it.
Roof --> Upper Levels --> Lower Levels I'm posting this because I wanted to thank everyone who has tested Cavalcade and provided me with feedback. The past month of testing has been critical and I couldn't have done it without you guys. I know some of you might be sick of playing on it already. I'm stating this right now because I don't see myself getting anymore testing in before I officially start posting the map around. I'll try to include the names of people who have helped test when that time comes, and I apologize if I forget some of you. I have a few more incidental things I would like to investigate--a problem with being a perfectionist--but overall the map plays exactly as I imagined it would. Thank you! Bonus Picture! More to come very soon.
Some kind of inverse symmetric 4v4 map. Not solid on a name yet. It's going by Autumn right now haha.
Seriously, I was working on that map above you and thought I was saving constantly. For one reason or another, I got kicked from the server. Luckily, I had a buddy with me who saved the map for me. I loaded up the one I thought I was saving and nothing had saved from when I started. I was rescued from sorrow and woe from my friend. Hope you didn't lose much. ^^
I just lost three hours of mapping :< Thought I was saving the whole time and apparently it never saved Also the maps posted here look amazing :O I feel like my maps are garbage now haha.
So it just dawned on me that I'm a Campaign designer and not a Multiplayer designer. I could probably build a 20 hour Campaign with the spaces I've scrapped. Very different ideas go into building something like a Firefight space for AI to traverse as opposed to players. Am running around this map and it's basically a Spartan Ops mission now.
Started a new 2v2 design. Arrows represent a ramp with a 4ft height change Triangles represent a ramp with an 8ft height change 1-A and 1-B are one way teleporters that take players from the lowest levels to the highest Circles are powerups/power weapon locations Diamonds are lifts Each grid square equals an 8x8ft square Planning on having initial spawns in the two main areas in purple (-2), facing the powerup in the connecting hallway. My initial plan was to have Camo in corner of the connecting hallway in top left corner of the map, Ovy in the bottom right corner, sniper in the bottom left, and Rail/Hydra in the top right of the map... tbd Lower Levels Higher Levels Let me know what you guys think. I wanted to be finished with my block out by the beginning of February, but I fell behind and got stuck on an earlier draft. I'll have to sneak in some forge time here and there and get a block out ready for some games. I'm shooting for Monday evening.
