    COMUNITY FORGE BREAKOUT PLAYLIST

    Since the launch of Forge, we’ve kept an eye on your incredible community creations, and today we’re introducing the first (of many) batches of community maps into matchmaking. We know you’re excited about playing on Forge favorites, ranging from competitive 4v4 to Big Team Battle to wacky mini-games and Action Sack, and more. Let’s kick things off!

    To close out the January 2016 Season, we’re taking the top community Breakout maps and throwing them into the Breakout playlist so you can find your favorites. Next week, you'll get to vote on your top choices, and the winning maps will be integrated into the February 2016 Breakout playlist along with the previous on-disc maps.

    Here are the maps you’ll be playing on:

      Nice! Can't wait to play these tonight

      Most of my friends don't play Breakout (I'm not great XD) but If anyone would like to play I'd love to have a full team for playing these!

      The ones that I playtested a couple of weeks ago were a blast to play on. Hopefully the Halo community agrees with me.

      Great work to everyone involved! I look forward to getting some good games in the playlist. :) A lot of great last minute work was done by all. Solo and Sethiroth put in some work! ;) I'll vote after playing all of them several times over. :)

      There was a lot of careful thought and design put into these projects, some of which were originally created years ago in Halo Reach for an elimination game mode called 'Extinction'. Overall I think this update provides a fresh new vision for Breakout as many of the maps really make you focus on the objective. Should be a fun update, will get some games in later today if anyone is on.

      As some one that enjoyed playing Elimination back in Reach, I'm glad to see some of these maps remade... Shame that Breakout pales in enjoyably next to Elimination though, otherwise I might consider playing on some of these. Congrats to the forgers nonetheless.

      Now to prevent this rant from bogging down the thread with negativity, I've hidden it in a spoiler tag. If you want to discuss it further, PM me. I expect honesty and altruistic intent out of people, much as I strive for with myself, and this rant is about the subject of such conduct.
      Now normally I'd also say congrats to the forgers for working hard on their maps and coming out atop the competition for this forge hopper... Unfortunately, I can not this time around. When specific forgers are told by specific CCs to make specific maps for a specific task, but it's all kept hushed under wraps from the general population, the resulting selection is not formed by competition, but through what is akin to insider trading and reeks of nepotism. Despite the fact that I like the selection of maps chosen and admire many of the forgers who made them, I can not respect the process in which they were picked. It is unethical and a major sleight against the spirit of healthy competition held by the community.

      Sodd it. Congrats to all the forgers involved. And to the CC's who were not involved in dubious dealings (you and I know who you are), I apologize for the blanket statements. To the CCs who were involved, know that I hold no ill will or spite towards you, and this post was made in an attempt to help keep you honest in the future. I respect all of you and what you do for the community, but back door dealings should not be tolerated.

      Again, congrats to the forgers for making great maps that will be enjoyed by thousands in the community. Good job.

      @WARHOLIC

      It was "Elimination" in Reach you filthy casual.

      @SecretSchnitzel

      I have a similar stance and it is the reason why I opted to not complete a map and prefer to be uncredited on Dead Center. At the same time though, I understand that a lot was asked from the CCs in a short span of time, so I only partially fault them for their handling of this entire situation.

      Either way, congrats to everyone involved. Got a chance to play a few games earlier and definitely had more fun than I did on the on-disk Breakout maps.

      How do we get a map into consideration?

      Breakout was just the first ask. I would have loved to find more in the community, but the current focus is on 4v4, remakes, 2v2 and mini games. Breakout was not a popular focus for the community so adjusting needed to be had. I'm really impressed by the results that came of such a short time span. At the very least this is the beginning of community maps in matchmaking. We should celebrate as a community.

      I love how Apparition is the main map that it keeps throwing me on. It's not like I wanted to test out the other ones or anything

      This is pretty sweet. I'll definitely be playing a lot more breakout, as I'm sure the experience will improve immensely with these maps.

      I've played on Simulation, Apparition, Deadcenter, Epicenter, and Absolute so far, and I LOVE Simulation and Apparition. Those two stood out to me as super fun, though all were a nice breath of fresh air from the usual Breakout style and aesthetic.

      I've found that pretty much all of these are a class ahead of the default breakout maps bar Altitude.

      played about 6 to 10 games tonight with a broken controller.....Actually had fun even though we lost a couple because of it :(. For those that played my maps and are enjoying them and leaving nice comments Thanks :). Seems Apparition is getting all sorts of love... Even though I like Havoc more LOL. I have the threads up for both so go check them out and leave any feedback

      It's been a good time on the maps ive played, however some of the maps I've only played once sadly though. Hopefully tomorrow I'll have the chance to run through them more.

      Nitpicking: In a couple of the maps, you can boost or groundpound too early, possibly able to escape on one because of it. Several of the maps don't have the spawn order raised on the second row of spawns, so sometimes 2 people spawn in the same lane. There are tons of floor pieces not quite lined up right.

      I don't like having the hex hole between the two round ones on epicenter. It should at least be framed the same way, just doesn't fit right now.

      Real stuff:
      Loving Epicenter.
      I'm a sucker for these 90 degree maps.
      For some reason I really dislike both maps by Solo XIII. That doesn't seem to be the case for everyone else, so good for him.
