Hello fellow forgers, Recently my channel has been spammed with negative feedback and dislikes because I caught a kid who took credit for my maps, which isn't that big of an issue but he then created several spam accounts to accuse me of stealing from him and he even went as far as commenting he doesn't give me consent to use his maps. I asked RUL and waypoint forms on how I should respond, and I created a video with evidence he is in the wrong, he created more accounts to sympathize for himself since then he has removed all his comments, videos, and claims he doesn't remember his spam account info to undo the taint he's caused. I refused to remove the video until he undid what he has done. He told me he's just gonna make a new channel and do the same thing. If the Forge community could check out my map videos and leave positive feedback if you like it, I would be forever greatful. Im not trying to force you to like it or subscribe but I'm just upset that being a marine vet, college student with a small channel was a victim to a 15 year old troll trying to get a million subs. He is still currently running said accounts and having his "followers" dislike all my videos. I'm not sure what he's changing his gamer tag too but he does run multiple YouTube and Xbox accounts and has been caught stealing montage videos too. Beware any kid named Parvinder Takhar. He does have a Twitter
This is pretty funny. I wouldn't worry about any forge video drawing in a million subscribers. If you are a regular forger, you should be posting your maps here instead of just on YouTube. I would just let it go man.
Thanks man, yeah I'm starting to move my stuff here and get back into forge forums, haven't done so since halo 3. I caught the kid again this time impersonating halo streamers making spam accounts with names similar. I'm keeping the video up because I think this guy should be known if he is in the halo community
sad but i knew this would happen, id suggest doing what i did, set up a new account, add it to your friends list, the more accounts on your friends list the better, add as child account if need be for extra protection so no randoms FRs and never go into matchmaking on that account
I wrote my name with decals and hide it around the map. Handy on parallax as it sometimes goes invisible. Ask the culprit why he wrote your gamer tag on the map lol
It wouldn't even need to be that complicated. You could take a really small piece and place it at an exact co-ordinate. Chances are if someone copied the map they wouldn't even know it was there. If you do something larger they would be more likely to notice it.
You could always make videos of making the map and post the time laps of them with voice overs. That way you have some proof to making it
Streaming your Forge process is a simple way to prove authorship - definitely the easiest. I know Max here does it because I watch him. Aside from that though, just participating in this community and posting your WIP images in the WAYWO thread, map previews in Forge Discussion, etc. generally will afford you the legitimacy you desire... Because we'll ****ing CUT anyone who steals a map from one of our own.
This has to be patched with the upcoming update, surely. I'd also like the ability to publish my maps rather than have all my files available at all times.
I draw secret dicks in my maps... that way if someone steals it i can be like "whoa, this dude must really want my dicks"
i hate not bieng on my profile to forge, anytime i tinker with forge just for shits like breaking a map then i explore, i start a map that i like, i then realize im on my profile so i either let it go and put a trigger warning on the map or i quickly save switch profiles bookmark resave, switch back delete and HOPE nobody decided to check in that 5 minutes to download. By the way theres an open file of infinities new map broken out with a seperate wip in my fileshare now because of this very problem. The biggesty thing about all this is im afraid of finishing a map on either method, My profile which will consistantly be an unfinished project open for everyone, or a seperate map that before i finish may be patched at any given time to not change a GT anymore, so its basically let it be open or possibly un salvagable until completed before update,
Was this patched does anyone know? I wonder if there will be a system to credit the creator of prefabs.
Nothing has been done by 343 i doubt anything will be done for awhile unfortunately. just par for the course
Yeah, an update as of now, I contacted pro players and the people he posed as with spam accounts and they looked into the response videos I made and it reqtd the kid to the point where he contacted me begging me to remove my stuff. That kid convinced himself he forged all my maps, and even posed as someone else when he asked me to delete them. I logged all the messages just in case and I now screenshot everything when I forge.
I consider my published maps public domain. You can steal them all you want. Just don't claim i stole it from you.
