Say you bookmarked someones map and then they update the map. Does the map you have bookmarked update? Say you bookmarked someones map and then they delete that map. Can you still play that map from your bookmarks? Does the map disappear from your bookmarks?
If you bookmark it and they update it you will see the update as long as they didn't "Save As" if they delete it you will be unable to play it via bookmarks (It doesn't disappear from your bookmarks but it essentially becomes a broken link if they have deleted it)
I'm about 99% sure that's incorrect. I've never had a bookmark update on its own. I've always had to add it as a bookmark again to get an update. I have several Bookmarked maps that have been deleted by the creator, but they still work fine for me.
I'm pretty sure it's correct cause I work there and I'm on the Network Team , if that's not what you're seeing it's a bug If bookmarks aren't updating it's probably because the author used save as and created a new file which means the thing you bookmarked is technically not being updated. I've also tested this myself
Well...perhaps I was mistaken. I've able to load up maps that were deleted by the creator before, but I just tried some bookmarks that were deleted by their creator, and they don't load. It's possible that the ones that worked for me were maps that I had saved after bookmarking. This is good to know. I'll have to make sure I save maps I like from now on instead of just bookmarking them, because there have been hundreds of times that map creators have deleted maps I enjoyed. Most people I download maps from are using the save as feature, so that would explain why I've not noticed any updates on them. The times where I thought there were updates to a Bookmark that I didn't receive, it's very possible that the creator saved a new file with the same name as the previous file. I do that frequently myself (use Save As but keep the name the same).
