im so gunna puch the guitarist from outlaw if i ever c him because if u hav rock band than u will hav played a song called green grass and high tides, go on watch the video on youtube its 10 mins long, theres 2 guitar solos and 1 of them lasts for more than half of the song, i hav done every song on solo expert guitar beides this 1. i hav played it like 20 times but i get so close. my problem is that im using the gh3 guitar just to save money but i hav seen and heard on forums thats its impossible or very hard to complete without the rock band guitar. so is ther any big tips to do this song with the gh3 guitar.

i use a gh3 guitar and can pass green grass an high tides on expert with 89%. all i would say is just to practice the solos more. especially where the zig zag notes appear(if that made any sense) because thats where i had most of my trouble.
I used the GHII X-plorer Controller and have 5-starred every song. Its not about about what controller you use. When the arpeggios start to happen at the end, strum on every eighth note. It helps you stay on track and keep the beat for timing the pull-offs.
I remember having tons of trouble with that song, so I just went and got the Rock Band controller from my friend's house (he owns the copy of Rock Band that I was playing). After two days of practicing with the Rock Band guitar (and a week of practicing with the GH3 guitar), I decided that the best thing you can do is to practice the zigzags near the end. Whenever I hit those, I just play green, red, yellow, skip, repeat. Hitting the red again on the way back down just makes things harder, and you can get through just fine if you consistently hit the first three out of four. Other than that, I can only say that it's worth your money to get the Rock Band guitar. I can't go back to the GH3 guitars now. BTW, once you beat the song once, it just keeps getting easier. I play it for fun almost twice a week. Almost always beat it (the buttons are starting to ignore my presses nowadays).
My opinion. One of the easiest songs in the game. I have gotten 91% with Gh3 guitar, and 89% with Gh2 guitar. I can almost ace the long solo. I always ace the first one, Not that bad. Youll get it.
rock band is pretty easy compared to GH3. i beat that song on my 3rd or 4th try and got i believe 90% my first time. but now i get 5 everytime. one of my friends said that he thought it was as hard as TTFAF. no its not. and the guitar controller dont matter, i wish i had a 360 guitar hero controller
Your statement about punching the guitarist from Outlaw is...well, for lack of better terms, just plain stupid. They didn't design the song in Rock band, they simply play it in their REAL band. I can play the great majority of songs quite well on hard, but I haven't quite gotten the hang of expert yet. FYI, I'm sure that the song would be just a -teensy- bit harder on an actual guitar. Y'know, the ones with strings?
Most guitarists swear that it's actually easier to play most of these songs on a real guitar. It could be that they know how to play the instrument, but I have a friend who's very good at both, and he insists that real guitar is so much easier than plastic toy guitar.
I beat it recently. Use the Les Paul. Practice the zigzags and trips. Oh, and if you need to use overdrive during ANY of solo one, you need to practice.
Well technically, I don't need to use Overdrive at all during the song, but it helps near the end of solo 2. If I screw up for more than a second during or after the zig-zags, I'd be toast. But that's why I use Overdrive. I hate toast.
even with the GH2 controller i get 96% on the last solo. w/ the rock band guitar, i just my strumming hand on the little solo buttons and 100% the song. rock band is to easy so i only use use the drums now
Dude, my Rock Band guitar is screwy. The strum bar doesn't work on fast sections, unless you strum twice a note. I can't go THAT fast. So when my buddy comes over who owns GH3, he brings his GH guitar and I use that on Green Grass and High Tides, and it works perfectly. I get like 97% and do just fine. My Rock Band guitar also has some issues with the buttons, too many hammerons in a row and it screws up. I like the GH guitar a lot more. Just to clarify, I play on Expert.
I prefer the Rock Band guitar. There's various reasons for it, most of which have to do with the game's differences.
I also prefer the Rock Band Guitar, especially since the Les Paul one's red button does not work at all, press it hard, doesn't work. And by hard songs, you should download Afterlife by Avenged Sevonfold, now that solo is insane.
I personally dnt WANT rock band in the first place , i COULDNT pay £130 because i just wouldnt let myself. at the moment ill stick with my £45 GH3 , im working on hard at the moment its a big step up from medium!
I hate that song. Only once out of all my online band playing has the guitarist barley finished it on expert.
