My map is 90% indoors on the space canvas. Very dark. I just made every block white and set the map FX to Nova to make it halfway bright. I'll add lights later, but first I want to get my colors right for floors and walls. I want my floors and walls to be different colors while looking nice for a space station, but still be bright enough to not get complaints about the map being too dark. Any color and lighting experts out there?
Check out different 3d sci-fi art and games for inspiration. You have access to the whole color pallet when setting up lighting. They lighting affects object colors and textures and vise versa. I would recommend figuring out what colors you like and then make a duplicate of your map and test it out.
Set all your walls to one reference color and all your floors to a second. Then in map options you can easily switch the colors for ALL floors and walls at one time. Makes experimentation very easy.
