So found out about this earlier today.

When on a server you can bounce between a general voice chat and team specific ones with a click. Works in browsers and on phones as well as the desktop software.

Should be great for customs being able to talk to all and then split off into team chats and back for the lobby with no effort.

Can also be used to have a constant chat to drop in and out when anyone wants to talk forge with whoever is around.

Also worth mentioning you can link people into the chat server with a url and they will join into the browser version.

I'm curious why using discord is a thing for xbox players. I've been on PS4, am I missing something? Is chat that bad that people have moved towards using external VOIP to compensate?

Yes, and whats worse is that MS owns Skype and doesn't integrate that prebuilt technology into the XBL voice chat system. It was extremely unreliable in MCC for some reason. Teams would miss call outs at crucial moments in the game. Having something reliable is important when you get to high level play because voice is that last thing you want to go wrong in a team game.

Just something I came across the other day and thought someone on here might find useful, I do stuff on PC and Box, usually just talk via pc anyway using skype groups.
Better than skype for games as you can switch to team channels which you can't in party chat and it's just a nicer light weight program.

Main reason I thought people on here might find it cool is having a chat/voice server to drop in and out of when playing or not might be cool when it comes to forge/ customs talk, could see it being useful for your forge team thing or forgehub in general.

Allows talking outside of the console bubble so you can organise jumping on to do things with people at the same time which is nice and gets around jumping on only to waste time because nobody else is.

Anyway people I know have moved to VOIP stuff because our consoles aren't always on or the only thing we do, computers usually are, it's more flexible and depending on your setup, more convenient (less cables and no need to unplug things for me). Also MCC game chat was a mess, not that I really played it that much.
