DELIVERANCE By CommanderColson -Overpower your opposers and take the holdout, but watch out for the Zombie horde that quickly follows. 12-16 Players. Deliverance was an idea I had back in the late days of Halo 4, but could not execute due to the beloved Flood settings. The gametype was originally inspired by the television show, 'The Walking Dead', a show that deals greatly with fighting zombies and other groups of survivors, something that I wanted to implement into an Infection gametype, along with slowing down the speeds and beefing up the zombies in order to make a more grounded, team orientated game of infection. 'Deliverance' works as such: -Alpha zombies spawn in a placement of power on the high ground, with human traits and BR's. -Humans spawn on the low ground, and must carry a Flight Bomb upwards to infiltrate the power position held by the Alpha's. They're given low firepower. -Upon infiltrating the Alpha's hold out, humans will finds weapon crates full of BR's and AR's. -Humans must plant the flight bomb in the hold out to cut the rounds timer in half. For instance, instead of having to hold out against the zombies for 4 minutes, upon planting the bomb humans may only need to hold out for 1 minute. -When either an Alpha or Human dies, they respawn with the traits of a normal zombie. Swords and all. 'Tillage' by CommanderColson; one of the 2 official Deliverance Maps. 'Mountain Pass' by Auxi Klutch and CommanderColson; one of the 2 offcial Deliverance Maps The current maps built for Deliverance are; 'Tillage' by CommanderColson 'Mountain Pass' by Auxi Klutch and CommanderColson 'Seelow Heights' by Auxi Klutch All of which will be on CommanderColson's (me) file share shortly. A big thanks goes out to Auxi Klutch, whom recorded gameplay, edited the videos, took screenshots, and helped build a few of the maps for the gametype! I personally love how this asymmetrical little Infection game has turned out, and plan to enthusiastically bring it to Halo 5 when the opportunity arrives. Hope you all enjoy! -CommanderColson PS: The song in the first video (entitled 'Everglades') was composed by me, Evan Colson. I'm a big fan of this gametype. It's probably the most extraordinary and interesting take on the Infection gametype in the matter of "serious Infection".
For anyone who may wonder about the 4th map shown in my commentary video; that was a map named 'Prison', which was based off the prison seen in the show the 'Walking Dead'. After much testing however, I came to the conclusion that the design for the map was inherently flawed and would not make the cut for being an 'official' 'Deliverance' map.
I've never played this map and I'll probably never get the chance to but the gametype seems super clever and in all honesty I'd probably enjoy playing it. Can't say I've ever seen anything like this in my time during H3 and Reach, so I'll definitely watch out for your stuff in H5. Good work bro
The maps look incredible. Infection isn't something I play so there's not much I can say from looking at the besides that. I'm a big fan of the walking dead series, shows and comics. I watched a little bit of the trailer you posted, good job to the editor and great work on the music! I can imagine a lot of people will enjoy this while they wait on halo 5.
