Hey guys! Just stoping by here to say, awesome maps coming out of this thread here. Congratulations to everyone so far, it's good to see some things doesnt change. And I'm sure wouldnt mind to put up some content from here in their playlist, specially if it's really well optimized. That's the tip, cya!
"Infection Infection has been performing quite well, and we’ll be keeping it around for a bit longer before rotating in another playlist. We know hearing that Infection isn’t permanent just yet makes some of you sad. The playlist team has a few new experiences they’re working on, and we want to give a chance for these to enter the matchmaking lineup. Infection will be around until the next playlist update, and it will return, potentially as a permanent playlist if it outperforms future playlists that we’re thinking about." I'm not sure if you've read the most recent content update @PA1NTS but I'd say it's now or never to approach Bravo, 343, Cartographers, whomever it is exactly that you have contact with. It sounds like they're definitely thinking about 'new experiences' for the Infection playlist. I'm not sure if that's indirectly addressing our little forum here, or if they have their own plans in mind, but I'd say it's time to start making some noise.
Drillsite removed from Outlast category, Parkade added to Last Stand category. Sabotage gametype has been through a few tests but needs work. Perhaps some maps specifically designed for it would be better? Deliverance has been fun so far too.
What I see Sabotage being is a shortcut out of the 4 minute round time. Charge all the Capture Points, and you can end the round quicker, therefore giving more players a better chance of survival. I think there's definitely something to that, as it's unique, and in a way allows the players to challenge the Infection Game type Mechanics themselves. However, at this moment (and please understand the following is just my opinion) I could very well hide in the back of the map and fight off zombies for 4 minutes just like any other game of Hivemine or Outlast, while my fellow players are off getting themselves killed trying to haul the bomb around. "As a player, I just don't care if I'm earning points or not. I just wanna shoot people in the face." What I don't want, however, is to be killed and become a zombie. So... What if you upped Sabotage's Round time from 4 minutes to 8? I know off the bat that may seem like a bit of an exaggeration but think about it; who's gonna be able to hold out for 8 solid minutes? (Probably) no one! Therefore, players may feel more encouraged to get the bomb across all the Charging Points to end the game earlier, that way they can actually survive the round. Otherwise, they're pretty much just... walking dead I understand that may not be what you're going for but I think it would be interesting to at least test.
Updated original thread post to include the current community map and gametype test list for industries. Will be updating frequently so keep checking back for new maps and gametypes. H2A Drillsite and H2A Island Plaza removed due to already being in the Infection playlist in Halo 4. New 3 phase linear infection gametype (Sabotage) coming soon.
Cadre/Infection maps removed to make room for the third community gametype Sabotage. The Cadre/Infection maps were placeholders until a third gametype surfaced. Stay tuned for Sabotage. We'll need testers!
