I've recently made a couple posts to Xbox Feedback, one of which I'm sure we can all agree on. Forge needs to stop this sad little half assed reiteration with every game and commit to the long run.

Here is the Link - Halo 5 - Create an evolving Forge experience

Also worth checking - Halo 5 - Create an evolving multiplayer experience

The basics to that post is that we need a forge that doesn't just get plopped in front of us and forgotten. We need forge updates. We need new textures objects lighting, building blocks, environments. Things that can keep forgers forging through to each new iteration of Halo. We need the Forge to stop being something we get an upgrade to with every new version of Halo and start being something that we get access to with every copy of Halo. The Forge really has little reason to be left behind. I'm sure at some point there will be a good reason to switch to a new engine, but until then I want 343 to make sure they have put as much effort as they can into the existing one.

I'm tired of thinking Minecraft has a better setup than our beloved Forge.

Just focusing on the evolving Forge aspect, I think semi-regular content updates would be awesome. Here's a question though. Would you be willing to pay for Forge DLC?

Assume anyone could play on them, but only people who bought the pack could use them in Forge.

I think you may be missing the point, much in the way developers have forgotten it. The easiest way to sell your next game is to keep people interested and playing your current game. The money they could save in advertising alone would make it worthwhile. Hell, they are just giving away multiplayer maps in Halo 5. Charging for Forge would be odd.

You don't even need a full team to provide content updates to something like the Forge. It's just John and Jane, sitting in a room, trying out texture, object and scripting ideas. It's probably the cheapest thing they can do to keep interest up on Halo.

    So, short answer, No.

Well that answers that, lol. Yay for new Forge, and post launch Forge support. Hopefully it continues to evolve instead of getting replaced when Halo 6 comes out.

I know, right? I love the idea of getting constant Forge/Customs updates, but I was a little pessimistic lol.

Same here. I wish they would have just called it a Forge Beta and allowed us to download it anyway. Then after we break it a few hundred times they make an official launch in December with all kinds of fixes and extra features. I was all psyched up to use it in a few weeks :(
