Nobody has really asked about this but from what you could tell did there seem to be any new changes to the overall spawn system? Something new aside from the usual spawn points and spawn zones?
Unfortunately we didn't get to dabble too much with setting up spawning. I personally chose to set up spawns the quickest way via team labeling and duplicating. Perhaps you'll be able to find out more about this closer to launch.
From P1 Yes options are good, but does the forge feel to technical? A) It feels like the exact correct balance between ease of use, and highly technical. You can still forge by hand if you wish. Did you guys see any scenery pieces? A) The Scenery pallet was a bit sparse but many of the pieces were still in the hands of the artists. What about vehicles? A) We only saw the standard set, plus a few variants of Warthog and Mongoose which can be seen in some of the Warzone videos. Is there AIs? A) No What about the weapons? We can place the Warzone's weapons? A) No [edit] I meant to say "I don't know". What about particle effects? A) No, other than fog and local effects like smoke and sparks. can we change the terrain (like create some little mountains or holes)? A) There are many terrain pieces, including little mountains and holes (bowls). Is there metal? A) You can make items appear like metal by upping the "Metallic" setting and choosing the correct colour. So there's terrain AND terrain sheets? How do they work? A) Terrain sheets are just the large hill pieces turned upside down. They have perfectly flat bottoms. Most terrain pieces can be used in different ways by turning or flipping them. Are there any covenant themed pieces? Ever since Halo 3 that's been a popular request but we've never really gotten more then a handful of them. A) We didn't see any but the inventory was no where complete when we were there. They have the ability to add a "Covie Theme Pack" at a later date if they wanted to. You would be able to add these to existing maps when released. Can REQ weapons and vehicles be placed in forge? A) No. How big are the terrain pieces? A) VERY BIG Can we color pieces black? Black 10% to Black 100% in 10 percent increments
Can you explain the intro/outro items? And this is a long shot but can you say whether or not you can apply your own screenshot as the preview screenshot for a map?
Where you answered 'No.', do you mean that this was not in the version that you played, or that they gave you a specific answer of no. Because I feel like it would be a bit of a shame to not include the weapons from Warzone in Forge. Not having REQ stations is fair enough, though.
They are just like the intros you see in the Breakout video at 0:17. You setup shots of your map & team within Forge using the camera features. We don't know if Screenshots will be in but they are aware of the need.
this was probably already answered but i'll ask again anyway: on Glacier, are there ice rocks and brown/black rocks, or are they all ice by default because of how terrain objects behave on different canvases now?
Has the allotted number of traditionally limited Forge items been increased? For example, has the number of teleporters we can place on a map been increased?
Yes, greatly. There are no limits, other than engine constraints. You could place 500 Space Whales if you wanted to. Yes to all. You can place Glacier snow terrain, as well as Alpine grass terrain, all on the same Glacier map. They behave as if they are on their default map which is kind of hard to explain in text.
Do you believe from the combination of all the new features, we will see new 'revolutionary' gametypes and fun activities/maps crop up in the coming months after forges release?
Thanks again Nok. Snow maps should be very interesting then. I have a really cool design I'm going to work on.
You can forge while being in offline mode, that was my first questions when we were told about forge being run on dedicated servers
Yes, but they were not clear on how it will work since your maps are saved in the cloud. Yes. Also, i predict a whole new wave of Rube Goldberg machines.
Maybe some sort of temporary local copy of the map until the Xbox is next connected to the internet? Though then you'd be unable to access maps when you go back offline..
Cool stuff guys! My question: Do respawn points, hill markers, kill boundaries, etc. count towards the 1024 object count limit?
