Hopefully these are things you can answer: Are there any covenant themed pieces? Ever since Halo 3 that's been a popular request but we've never really gotten more then a handful of them. Can REQ weapons and vehicles be placed in forge?
No questions here, but holy crap guys congrats on getting to go and test forge at 343i! That's pretty awesome. When all of these names of people I recognized started popping up in the video I was like holy **** I know you!
OBJECT COLORING This is the most underrated new feature included to forge. The ability to select color allows us to create awareness, contrast and depth within our spaces. Increased visual customization of our objects directly enhances performance because our old habits of using complex detailed objects to produce a desired color are no longer necessary. There are about 128 colors to select from! This will allow you to fully cover a piece with a single color or choose to articulate a piece with trim color by appropriating secondary and tertiary color selections. It is really incredible how many colors we get to select from now. In addition to this there is a 'metallic reflection' slider that allows you to increase the reflective quality of your surfaces. Please note that this does not change the 'texture' of your block.
Combining the color and glossiness options will allow you to create items which fit visual themes such as Covenant, Forerunner, metal, concrete, etc. We cannot clarify the full extent of the welding tool's capability. It is quite flexible, though. --- Double Post Merged, Oct 6, 2015 --- The canvases are larger and less restrictive than the ones seen in Halo 4. There are terrain pieces which are very large and ones which are quite small. There are 128 colors available, and black is among them as can be seen in the video.
In the halo 5 guardians forge vidoc they showed a snow or arctic themed map. Were the rocks textured to look like ice or was that the default texture of that object.
Any word on file shares? I'm not in the loop with H2A, but don't you have to get files in a roundabout way?
PERFORMANCE The fear for producing frame rate latency has been plaguing us for multiple titles. This was by far our community’s largest creative drawback. While there is a lot of room left for improvement on the new system, overall performance in Halo 5 is the best we’ve seen. Its nice to know that our more ambitious imaginations can be accommodated now!
Is it just selectivity, or can you do optical effects like how covenant surfaces traditionally have an iridescent sheen where the reflective highlights are a different color from the base material?
Can REQ items be placed in forge ? Like there are different vehicles with skins, this we know. But can they be placed ?
I'm a perfectionist when it comes to lining up edges, and rotation has always given me nightmares. With the new rotation and magnet options, should I still be concerned, or will I have sweet dreams?
